Great little vegan/vegetarian restaurant tucked away on a quieter street. There's lots of information in their menu about different nutritional aspects, as well as more facts and history about the food they serve. Everything is labelled clearly as being vegan or vegetarian, and the recommendation for spice level with each individual dish is also shown.
We came here twice, and both times the food was great. Their Pad Thai, and other soups and curries were a delight. We only wish that the food was spicier, as we've struggled to find vegan food that still has a local spice level to it. Also wish that there were some more savoury breakfast options, as all the options they had seemed quite sweet. Nonetheless it was still great!
The service was a bit slow, but very friendly. It's not a large space, but at times it felt a bit understaffed. Still lovely service.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect! Lots of fans to keep you cool, and have the option to sit at a regular table, or to have a more traditional experience with cushions on the floor with a low standing table. A really unique option, and had beautiful lighting that also really made the space more inviting and comforting. The soundtrack was also smooth and calming to help you fully enjoy your experience.
Definitely one of our favourite restaurants that we...
Read moreThis beautiful little vegan spot is hidden just a couple minutes away from Khaosan Road down a quiet backstreet. The atmosphere once you step into the door instantly relaxes you from the crazy wild city of Bangkok. As a vegan travelling thailand, it is not always easy to eat but Ethos is the exception to this rule. The food was outstanding, I got the vegan lasagne and my partner got Green Curry. We both came back the following day and had pancakes for breakfast. The flavours in the dishes are divine, portion sizes are large and filling. The 'ethos' of ethos is one we live by. They care about health, not just about being vegan. A lot of vegan food on the market is junk food but Ethos sidesteps all of this. Their menu is real and humorous, explaining the dangers of drinks like coca cola, and the health risks of soy. I would 1000% recommend this place to any vegan, vegetarian or anyone who just likes good food! I wish we were in Bangkok for longer because we would definitely have...
Read moreHonestly I was disappointed. I came for breakfast and wanted to have the muesli with fruit and soy milk, they did not have soy milk so I chose it with coconut milk instead. The fruit was ok, but I’ve had better in the streets, the muesli was boring (tasted like oats and a few died fruit pieces, but mixed with the fresh fruit the dried one kind of got lost) and then they used full fat store bought coconut milk and honestly it was not very good but very expensive … so I would not come again for breakfast.
Also didn’t like that the card tried to educate you about topics (“so soy in tofu and soy milk is bad but fermented as tempeh it’s good, so pick the expensive options”, either educate and don’t offer the “bad” things or don’t). The other table had the pancakes and they looked boring but I didn’t try those.
Very sad I was exited for a good vegan place and instead was left feeling uncomfortable for the rest of the day due to the amount of...
