Always LOAF U Nimman Soi.17 — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

I used to really enjoy coming here often, but unfortunately doubt I’ll ever return in the future. The quality of the baked goods and coffee drinks is very high. Excellent cookies and tiramisu. This negative review is due exclusively to the new front counter/cashier staff (tall young Thai woman with zero customer service mindedness and no English skills).

She has consistently been unpleasant and today made things so difficult due to her lack of common sense that I walked out.

The total for my order was 510 baht. I paid with a 1000 baht note, then a 20 baht note so that I could get 510 baht change instead of 490 baht with several 100 + 20/50 baht notes. She originally keyed in only the 1000 baht and refused / was completely unable to manage the mental task necessary to just take the additional 20 baht note and give me 510 baht back. My Thai colleague was with me and explained clearly to her in Thai, but she still acted as if what I was requesting was simply bewildering and impossible for her. We walked out.

I hope a shop of this previously high standard will be able to find a slightly higher skilled customer-facing employee in the near future, or minimally arrange for their staff to receive some training in very basic customer service and...

This bakery has the kind of vibe that’s hard to come by — thoughtful, cozy, and effortlessly cool. It’s the type of spot that feels like a real part of the neighborhood, not something made for Instagram. You don’t see many places like this around Thailand, and it’s part of what makes Chiang Mai so unique.

Everything is so fresh and delicious, and the coffee is also excellent. Savory rich flavors with some dishes, sweet and decadent with others, and all the textures and wonderful smells of a world class bakery. Very cute place - has A/C indoors and also a table out on the front patio - it is small though, so it can fill up. Service is also excellent - careful and friendly.
