I stumbled upon this cafe by chance while intending to visit another matcha cafe, all because my boyfriend was too lazy to walk further 😂. To my surprise, when I walked in, I realized that the cafe was much more spacious than it appeared from the outside.
The menu had a great variety, with options ranging from matcha to Japanese desserts. Initially, I hesitated when I saw all the fake desserts on display at the counter because I couldn't see any real food, and it didn't stimulate my appetite. However, my boyfriend encouraged me to give it a try, so we ordered a couple of items.
I opted for the premium iced matcha latte, which was served in traditional Japanese matcha bowls without any ice. It was cold, which was perfect for me, especially in the Thai heat. The matcha latte had an authentic taste with a touch of sweetness. If you have a sweet tooth, remember to request it "very sweet" to the waiter.
The cocoa warabi mochi was decent but a bit on the pricey side. However, the classic matcha ice cream was a standout! It had a wonderful blend of sweetness and creaminess, but my only gripe was that it came out of a mold rather than being served in fresh scoops. I had to wait for it to melt a bit before enjoying it.
The cafe's atmosphere is surprisingly peaceful, with a calm ambiance and soothing music. The decorations transport you to Japan, making it an excellent place for hanging out with friends or engaging in business discussions.
The staff was exceptionally friendly, kind, and polite. Overall, I hope this cafe gains more recognition and customers so that this charming spot can continue to thrive.
I highly recommend paying a visit and supporting this small...
Read moremy premium sencha didn't taste like anything remotely premium, more like regular supermarket green tea, and I'm far from newbie to Japanese teas.. they brought me sencha with hot water infused with leaves for already many minutes as i immediately pour the water out and taste incredibly over brewed disgustingly bitter infusion. the brown teapot they gave me tea in was the cheapest second hand fake teapot that you can get for 10bath from second hand Japanese shop ( plug the hole on the lid and not any water should come out, while this one didn't stop leaking water even a little bit ). on top of that water temperature seemed to be too hot, that i could burn myself just by touching teapot and then how can i pour out water fast when they bring it already too late too long over brewed... not to mention too hot temperature create bitterness... please don't open tea shop if you know nothing at all about the tea.
the houjicha was ultra grainy ...
Read moreI ordered an iced matcha tea with milk for 160 baht. First of all this price is expensive for a matcha tea, matching a price I would pay in Australia.
Secondly, there was only 130ml of liquid in the tea, this is 3x less than the amount of matcha and liquid I would get ordering a similar drink in Australia, for the same quality of matcha.
I want you all to know matcha is not an especially expensive ingredient.
This cafe is a tourist trap and is profiteering off tourists and non-local Thai. Their cost of ingredients I estimate at about 20 baht or less for my drink.
They probably have a small group of friends of the restaurant that come here, get generous serving sizes and give positive reviews. Don't trust some of these reviews.
Positives: Nice atmosphere, but not worth getting such a...
