Breaking my 24-hour fast with the legendary Cowboy Hat Lady—of course, with rice! I first discovered her through Mark Wiens’ vlog on Chiang Mai while researching food spots last year, and later, I saw her featured again on Sunny Side’s Best Ever Food Review Show. Naturally, I had to experience it for myself.
Her stall, located at Chang Phueak Market, was bustling with energy, filled mostly with Chinese tourists eager to try her famous Khao Kha Moo Chang Phueak (ข้าวขาหมูช้างเผือก), or braised pork leg over rice. Read moreFound myself chasing down a food stall I’d seen on Parts Unknown years ago. It was one of those places where the line is the least of your worries and the reward is worth the hunt. We bonded over stories of meals past and future, the kind of conversations that weave together food, travel, and the enduring legacy of Bourdain himself. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience, the kind that stays with you long after the plates are cleared.
Thank you Anthony, you are missed, and thank you...
