Dishes we like: minced meat on toast bread (appetizer), khao soi noodles with beef, glutinous rice with coconut milk and longan fruit (dessert). Visited in Jun 2024.
My first experience with khao soi noodles in 2022 at a coffee shop with ridiculous queue of tourists cos of social media postings from celebrity chefs. That was a terrible experience. That khao soi tasted awful.
This time round I gave myself another chance to try khao soi. I must say Kuakai Nimman definitely changed my perspective of khao soi. They nail it. It was really palatable. Firstly, the fried noodles is a pale shadow of Bangkok’s. There was hardly any charring of the noodles and the chicken skin had a strange taste from inadequate cleaning of the skin before deep frying.
The satay was good. Mostly lean meat, it was sweet and the sauce was full of peanut flavour and slightly spicy. It also came with pickled cucumber and onion which help cut through the sweetness of the meat. The toast when soaked with the peanut sauce was just heavenly.
I would come back just for the satay alone but skip their signature...
Read moreA nice and clean restaurant that serves their famous dish of Kuakai, an omelette with chicken type of dish which is not that common around. The restaurant is very clean, they also have outdoor seating. Service is very friendly and welcoming. The chrysanthemum drink is so refreshing and aromatic.--4.5* We ordered their famous Kuakai and it did not disappoint. Serve in a hot plate with a sunny side egg, this dish is done to perfection. The crispy chicken skin elevates the whole dish. They were recommended by the Michelin guide and I think they nailed it.--5* The other dish we order is the beef green curry, the dish is fragrant and tasty, the taste is balanced but the beef is too tough to eat.--4* A nice restaurant to enjoy the...
