Mooh — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

My latte was delivered in a duralex glass which looks pretty but meant I had to wait a few minutes before drinking as it was too hot to comfortably pick up. The latte itself was pretty good - not as exceptional as a great coffee shop but it exceeded my expectation for a place more focused on their food.

The donut was pillowy soft with a little chewiness. The whipped cream was great. I wish there had been more strawberries but otherwise it was the perfect size for a mid-morning snack and tasted fresh.

I see some concerns about the price. The cost of things seems so varied in Chiang Mai - you can easily find a large plate of food for 45 baht or 450 baht. I thought the price was quite reasonable.

Service was good - very efficient and quick. Everyone was friendly.

The only annoying part were the people posing for pictures and I felt like I was inadvertently photo bombing them just by sitting at my table. I’m sure Mooh encourages that for publicity reasons but it detracted from the atmosphere and...

Disappointed. Every time we visit Chiang Mai, we used to love ordering donuts here and picking them up. Their donuts are delicious. This was our first time visiting the store. We arrived 20 minutes before closing, and despite most of the seats being empty, we were refused seating because we ordered 1 donut for 2 people, as their policy requires one order per person.

Additionally, they charge 5 baht for a paper bag only if you order two donuts, but if you only get one donut, they won’t sell you the bag. Instead, the staff gave us a plastic bag, which felt confusing and not eco-friendly, especially given they charge for everything (and another 5 baht for cutlery).

The Strawberry donut was okay. Nothing much to talk about. It’s a small shop with street parking. If you walk here, it’s fine.

However, we stopped by during the very non-busy hour, ordered 1 piece of the strawberry donut and asked if we could sit here so we don’t have to waste the container and hands were not that clean to pick it up. The staff said no because we got four of us. One order per one customer. Rule is rule but I somehow felt bad on this. What’s so hard to just put one piece of donut on a plate and give us one fork? 😟
