I recently dined at this restaurant, and my experience was a bit mixed. While it's on the pricier side, the quality of the food makes it acceptable. The salmon was incredibly fresh, and the belly part practically melted in my mouth. The prawn tempura was a highlight, with a satisfying crunch and generously sized prawns.
I also tried a meat dish, which was well-cooked and had a slightly sour flavor that was quite refreshing. However, I can't recall the specific item from the menu. On the downside, the meat or pork ball, whose name escapes me, was a bit dry, and I found the price of around 150 baht for two pieces to be a bit steep.
In terms of service, it was prompt, but I did feel a bit confused when the staff didn't repeat the order after I placed it. I had to call them back to confirm, which was a minor inconvenience.
Overall, this place is above the average Japanese restaurant, but it doesn't stand out from other high-end izakaya establishments. I might return when I'm hungry and can't decide on other options, but it wouldn't be...
Read moreArgh!!!! My favourite Japanese restaurant in Chiang Mai has turned me away. I love this place with all my heart and during the busy Christmas & NYE season I saw how busy they were with queues … so I thought I’ll give them space and let them shine! Enjoy the busy period! But alas, tonight, I showed up with my daughter and as we walked there we hoped there was no queue and we also dreamed of the delights we were about to eat…. And YES!!! When we arrived there where seats, staff, food, chefs & tables available so we high fived & we were happy. Then…. We were turned away…. We arrived at 9:31pm and they sent their youngest waitress & most inexperienced waitress to tell us “we are closed”… which is fine… I understand… but then this girl, as my daughter and I walked away said “excuse me” and pointed to sign … The sign said 9:30 closing time… I looked at my watch and my watch said 9:31. Argh!!!! We missed a seat at my favourite restaurant by 1min!!!!! Surely that could’ve given my daughter a plate of sushi and garlic...
Read moreDefinitely need to pre book for table reservation especially for dinner. But you can sit in at the bar table anytime if you’re solo and lucky like me. It’s a high recommended Japanese restaurant I knew in this area until I saw the long que every night while I passing by. So just give it a try. Overall Not bad, freshly sashimi, thick and big portion. sushi Set, served with variety of sushi, big portion too for single person. The fried of prawn tempura also be recommended, that’s 4 big prawn! Ok, I’m really full and feel interesting when every server there speaking Thai but only the word “onegaishimasu” (please) in Japanese when they serve the food. For me, not the best food for Japanese restaurant if compare with what I’ve tried before but quite in standard, if you craving for...
