Somehow, it's faultless. It's very Instagram friendly, but there is an incredible depth to the attention to details there that makes Robert stand out. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the decoration, that is really well thought out, even in the places no one ever looks. The food looks fantastic, but tastes great too, with a nice mix of local and western food. The personnel is amazing, friendly, attentionate, without compromising on standards of quality of service. And the owner (who was hanging around that day, apparently to plan more decoration) is delightful: he seems really passionate about this project, and very nice to all, patrons, personel, contractors. I thought well of him while he was interacting with others, and I am happy to have my good suspicion confirmed when we were gushing over Robert the mascot of the bakery (adorable poodle), as he came over and put Robert in our lap, and had a nice little chit chat with us. Overall, absolutely charming and charmed, but maybe the best thing is that this is not a tourist trap : most clients are locals, who come all dressed up for the occasion, so lovely to see! I'm really happy to have stumbled on this small gem, that is clearly the place to be for everyone in Chiang Mai, and rightly so. I've talked enough (sorry!), now just go and have fun...
Read moreI ordered the thick cut bacon with eggs and the bacon was very bad quality and basically like 98% fat. I love thick cut bacon and eat if often at other cafes, so I understand that bacon should have a fair amount of fat, but this was pretty much only fat.
When they served the dish the bacon was fried very little so only the outside of the very thick bacon was cooked and the rest was just a big slab of white uncooked fat. I showed the staff (maybe the owner) that it's all uncooked fat and they took it away to fry it some more.
When it came back it was cooked a bit more, but still was just all fat so I had to leave most of it. They didn't bother cooking fresh eggs or at least heating them a bit, so the eggs were completely cold when it came back.
The sourdough bread it was served with was ok, but there was only two very small and thinly sliced triangles of bread. For this price it would be nice to at least get a full slice of bread.
Another note, I guess the cafe is named after their dog and they had their two small dogs running around inside, which I generally don't mind as I love dogs. But the dogs seem to not be trained and they were running around barking and peed on the floor right next to us, which is not very nice when it's a place that...
Read moreOMG, I totally fell in love with that place! It's so cozy and chic, and every single thing on the menu looks absolutely delicious. I seriously couldn't decide what to order, it was such a tough decision! Eventually, I went with the buratta and fig toast, and paired it with a hot mint cocoa topped with marshmallows. It was the perfect combination.
But, let me tell you about the highlight of my visit - meeting Robert! Turns out, Robert is actually a dog, and he is seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen. I was lucky enough to be able to pet him, and it just made my day.
On top of that, the staff at the place were all super polite and friendly. It really added to the overall atmosphere and made me feel even more welcome. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Overall, I had such a great time at that place and I can't wait to go back. It's definitely become one of my favorite spots, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, chic vibe with delicious food and...
