Delightful experience, great food, bar is fairly well-stocked with the full spectrum of spirits, with 2-to-3 choices in each category. Favors Scotch and blends over Bourbon. Thai beers - to include a “Thai” IPA that is brewed and bottled in California, with a Thai distributor holding exclusive rights - and a few American IPA’s, with three choices: A Stone IPA, a Deschutes IPA, and I am drawing a blank on the third...all I can recall is that I recognized the Brand.
Seating? 3 sections. Section 1 is adjacent to the entry, and directly in front of the bar; not much, if any view of the river, tables are close together and a lot of foot traffic heading to section 2 or section 3, as well as those have have concluded their visit and are heading out. I’d avoid the section as it is cramped and noisy.
Section 2 is to the right of the bar, same level as section 1, with river views and overlooks section 3. I visited with friends on January 28th, and this area gets a lot of afternoon sun (restaurant has north-south orientation). Tables are still close together, but it is not as noisy or disruptive as section 1, as it has moderate exposure to foot traffic.
Section 3 is by the riverside, tables are spaced a little further apart. There are a couple of riverboats moored in the river that belong to The Riverside; they are used for dinner cruises. This section has a hum of muted conversations, but a party can carry a good conversation without straining to hear one another. Section 3 also gets a fair amount of sun exposure.
The wait staff and service is very good, attentive, and responsive. We tried the green curry with pork, spicy red curry with chicken, a dish of rice noodle that had nice-sized bits of bacon and sausage, along with some green beans, bean sprouts accompany the noodles. We also had a green salad that was decent. The entrees were excellent, the salad pretty much in line with other green salads (nothing remarkable about it, but not bad).
Parking is directly across the street from the restaurant, and costs (2020) 50 THB. A sign says you will receive a a 50 THB credit if you sit in section 1; do not sit in section 1. We sat in section 3 and still received the 50 THB credit.
This is a venue the whole is greater that the sum of the parts. The river, seating in section 3, the delicious food, and a solid wait staff all made for a comfortable dinner environment where we did not feel we were in a restaurant; it felt more like dining on your patio (with a river).
Oh, one last thing: the beer is about the served at the same temperature as in England, and the Deschutes IPA I ordered, while tasty, seemed flat, as though it had been drawn-down slowly.
Would I eat there again? Yes, definitely. I can see myself dining their 1, possibly 2, times in a three month...

The Riverside bar and restaurant is a must-visit. Located on the beautiful Ping River, it offers a spacious and inviting atmosphere with ample seating both inside and outside. The primary restaurant section is family-friendly, accommodating large groups and families with children. The music from the band, which performed at 9:30 pm, created a lively ambiance, with people dancing and enjoying the music from their tables.
Although I didn’t dine there, my friend’s experience was enjoyable. The extensive menu provided me with an opportunity to explore the options. I opted for a premium gin, which was delicious.
The service at the Riverside bar and restaurant is exceptional. The attentive waiters and waitresses are always on the lookout for customers, ensuring prompt and friendly assistance.
Parking is available, and reservations are not required.
In conclusion, the Riverside bar and restaurant is highly recommended. I will definitely return for more. What I Loved: I loved the ambience. This restaurant and bar is very large and is located on the Ping River with a beautiful view. There is outside seating where you can take in the views along the Ping River and more than sufficient seating inside. In the section of the restaurant I will call the primary restaurant is family friendly. I saw many large groups and families there with children enjoying the music from a distance and enjoying their food. Because the restaurant is so large you can sit in an area where you can still hear and see the band, but it is not too loud, and you can still engage in conversation with your friends.
I came here with a friend on at Sunday night for cocktails and the music. We saw the band that performed at 9:30. The band was great! At one point there was an impromptu sing-along. People were dancing at their tables.
I did not eat at the restaurant, but my friend ordered from the menu so that gave me an opportunity to take a look at the menu. It is quite extensive. I ordered a premium gin. My drink was very good.
The Service: the service is excellent. They have many waiters and waitresses walking around looking for someone who may need some service or other help. They even have printed on the back of their T-shirt “Order Here.”Service prompt and friendly.
Good to Know: There is parking. Reservations not required.
The Bottom Line:The Riverside Bar and Restaurant is highly recommended. I will come back again. The Riverside bar and Restaurant My Overall...
