The place is popular amongst party goers during the weekends who have the munchies. It’s popular because of their vast menu options and affordable pricing.
It’s higher end than your regular street food or local run restaurant. We came here because everything else was close and it was reachable for us on Saturday evening.
The staff aren’t very attentive and it’s owned by a Thai/Chinese gentleman. The walls are plastered with photos of him and celebrities who’ve visited the place - it’s quite cute. The kitchen did listen to us though as they adjusted the spice level to our liking :) Minimal English spoken here.
Hygiene is up to standard as well - although you might find a few small bugs crawling around on the floor.
FOOD: it was decent. You can definitely get this quality of food or even higher at a cheaper price, especially if you’re around yaowarat area. We ordered fried sea bass with garlic (350 BHT) it was delicious! We also ordered tom yum (150 BHT) which was a bit sweet and lacked depth, fried tofu (60 BHT), mixed veg (80 BHT) and rice.
The rice was stale and not of high quality but I would definitely suggest you order seafood here. It’s what...
Read moreWe went there for late night supper since the reviews were mostly good. I’m really surprised that the food tasted quite bad despite ordering all the recommended food from those reviews. The only nice one was the fried vermicelli with eggs and squid. The portions are all quite small especially the shellfish (Thb120). The veggie (Thb80) was not cooked properly, the stalks are hard (or old?). The sour plum soup (Thb120) is disgusting, both the taste and the strong porky smell. I guess it’s really an acquired taste. The pork lard were all floating on top and the soup is very oily. The pork intestine was so chewy like rubber. We tried to finish the dishes but just couldn’t swallow anymore except for the fried vermicelli. Most importantly, it is quite a rip off since we didn’t order rice or drinks and were charged THB500 for such food. By the way, the waiters couldn’t speak/ understand English and despite showing them pictures of dishes from the reviews that we wanted to order, they insisted for us to write the number down. Seriously not recommended to...
Read moreChanced upon this seafood place between Thong lor and Phrom Phong BTS station on google map and it seems very popular. Decided to come check it out since i didnt have any place in mind for dinner. Reached the place around 7plus to 8pm and the place was somewhat 3/4 full. This place seems popular with the locals and tourist. Their menu is relatively extensive, ordered 3 dishes and a drink. Despite there were quite a fair bit of customer, i didnt had to wait long for my food.
I ordered the stir fried morning glory or what we normally called in Singapore, Kangkong, tomyum soup and stir fried clam with chili paste and basil. Have to say the food didnt dissapoints. The stir fired vegeatable has wokhei and well seasoned. Clams were nice too but felt it was a little cold. Soup was okay, but taste is more catered to the locals, foreigners may not be used to the taste.
Overall, paid 410baht for the meal, quite value for money in terms of taste and the portion. I would recommend this stall for anyone who is...
