We picked this hotel because it’s under the Banyan Tree Group but it didn’t turn out to be as good as expected.
The room was cosy with comfy beds and a walk-in wardrobe - first I’ve come across in a mid-priced hotel. Things were functioning and clean since the hotel is fairly new (2 years I think?). I liked the window seat as well. Shower pressure was great.
They could have made better choices with the furniture like the table, lounge and armchair. They were huge for the room size and took up too much space. Entering the room if you had lots of bags needed some manoeuvring as the door was heavy as well. The in-room slippers were super thin - surely they could have gone with a better quality.
Breakfast selection was mediocre. Saw some guests having pancakes and omelettes and I wasn’t sure if they were part of the breakfast and prepared a la minute, but the staff did not mention this option.
But the most disappointing part was the service. We were never greeted when we returned in the evenings, even though we had to walk past the front desk. I never thought about this in previous hotel stays but it was glaring when it was not done. Especially if you’re branded under Banyan Tree.
On one of the evenings, we asked for extra pillows and hangers but were told that they had no extras as the hotel was running at full occupancy. The staff said she would call our room to confirm this later but the call never came.
We knew about the location - it’s deep in a residential area, not walkable to the main road and you definitely need to catch a Grab in and out (the hotel shuttle takes guests to the main road near the BTS station but not the other way). Not an issue but you do need to be aware of this.
I probably won’t return as the lacklustre experience outweighed the good price and comfy room. Wasn’t stellar enough to make up for the slightly...
Read moreTo be honest, my stay in the hotel provided me with quite a pleasant experience. They had a good breakfast, great facilities and an onsen.
It is the checkout and post-stay that has left me feeling quite sore and irritated.
I had booked Homm34 for me and my team for a 3d2n business travel.
During checkout, the counter staff however told me that he had overcharged one more night to me as he assumed one of my team members was staying the same itinerary as me even though she clearly was not booked as such.
In short, he overcharged me by 1 night and he admitted to it and was honest to share that with me. So, at least they are honest. I give credit to them there.
However, the refund process of that did not happen even after 17 days post check out and any communications to the hotel through email and calls have not been answered.
In the end, I had to post a negative review here before I got contacted.
They did put me with a nice customer service person called Kris who was great and as helpful as she possibly can, but inevitably was not able to help resolve my issue.
In the end I was refunded partially and whatever losses I incurred from this booking was, to them, made good with sincere apologies. Unfortunately, that is really not as useful as giving me back the dollars and cents I paid out of pocket because of a mistake by their front desk.
If you are staying there for leisure then it's a nice place for their facilities. But if you're staying for business, then you probably should know that they only respond when you do reviews, they don't really know how a receipt looks like and more importantly, there's a good chance a mistake costing you some...
Read moreHorrible experience for new year. Come to check in at 3 which is 1 hour after check in starts, but have to wait until 4. Staff rude, bad attitude. There was a male member of staff working the afternoon on 31st and he was extremely rude to the trainee. I almost wanted to call manager because he bullies her. Shame on him. He was rude to us and gave us side glances but above all he was rude to the foreign trainee on staff. Staff didn’t offer anything to make up for the late check in. And when we asked for late check out, the response was we would have to call the next day.
We were told check in was not possible because they were so busy as it was the 31st however I also came to stay at this hotel before on normal day, and had the same problem with check-in.
The next day an unexpected knock on our door was greeted with free breakfast. We did not ask for this in advance, and notice should have been given because I was woken up and further stressed by this. We didn’t eat the breakfast because it looked like plane food.
Apart from that: Dusty parts in room No plates and cutlery in room (supposed to be), had to ask. Late check in 2 hours Onsen towel sticky Shower drain in bathroom does not drain properly, was gross to take a shower.
The only saving Grace is the cafe, where the employee is very cute. There are a couple staff members who are nice, but we didn’t get them when we checked in.
I won’t be returning here as staff didn’t do anything to compensate the 2 hours we didn’t get because of the...
