As a regular customers since 2021, we regret to inform you of this ill-mannered incident that happened tonight at the restaurant.
Saba sashimi is our regular dish. Everytime we come here, we would order 2 portions. As you can see, the portions that were served tonight were significantly reduced compared to the usual portions we used to get. We ordered 2 portions as usual and both came in significantly reduced portions. So we ordered the 3rd because the first 2 weren't filling. But the third dish was the same. So we asked to speak to the chef, whom was polite but did not accept that the portions were significantly smaller than the usual ones despite the proof of photo comparisons. So then we asked for the check. We didn't ask for any discount or anything.
But the real problem came when one of the staffs whom I believed to be a wife of the chef and the owner of the restaurant began to complain about us complaining about the portions. She kept talking very loudly at the sushi bar, so loud that we could hear everything from inside the private room with closed door. It became apparent to us that she deliberately wanted us to hear her complaints. She said things like "What do you expect the chef to do? Or" You expect to have free food? "Next time we should just weigh the fish so customers can't complain. "So the customers think they can complain but when we complain back, they are not OK."
This is to us absolutely and utterly ill-mannered and unacceptable. Please take time to look at the video and see how arrogant the female staff was talking back with the attitude. She should be kept at the back of the kitchen because with this poor attitude the restaurant...
Read moreIzaki offers probably the best sushi outside of Japan in my humble opinion. They have seasonal fish and other seafood imported straight from Japan so make sure to ask for seasonal recommendation.
The food here was incredible and fresh. We were sat at the counter and it was the best spots to watch the chefs prepared our meal. A friend of mine suggested we order warm sake with fish fin and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Fragrant and smooth, it paired really well with the food. The dessert was the best way to end this incredible meal so make sure to save some room.
The service was lovely and attentive. I had a lovely chat with the head chef towards the end of our meal and she was super nice and kind. Make sure to make a reservation in advance.
