Trust us, don't go for their Thai signature cocktails - these are very watered down, low alcohol level, unimpressive tasting and more expensive (400-420baht). We had a two glasses which I can't for the life of me even recall the names of. Just order a classic cocktail (360-375baht). We ordered a Mai Tai which was fantastic, and a negroni. Both better than the signatures.
There was one lady waitress working the smoking area which had a very black face. Sure she was swamped with requests or rather, work but we felt it come off as abrasive or annoyed. We asked her to take a picture for us, to which she said "OK, please wait" briskly and disappeared into her abyss. 10min later her colleague walked by, so we asked her and got it done there and then. It mattered because the sun was setting.
Their manager (a guy in a suit) appeared at like 630pm and asked if we wanted a refill of their complimentary crisps, lightening up the mood a fair bit knowing someone...
Read moreWas very excited when I went here for Friday night dinner and drinks, but my expectations might have been a little high. Started on the rooftop where we ordered our food and beverages, but got rained out. Staff were helpful in getting our party moved downstairs... but apparently the rooftop is a separate establishment? We had to close out our check, and upon looking at the ABar menu, saw that it was different from the ABar rooftop (and better). Why the discrepancy? Seems unnecessary and convoluted. (Should I be leaving 2 reviews for this experience?) I got one of their classic G&T, but can't say I was impressed. Got a couple of sushi rolls from the rooftop menu as well, but those also left much to be desired. The rest of my party enjoyed their drinks, but all agreed that most of it wasn't good enough to continue paying...
Read moreI invited my mother in law and my nice to BKK and booked a room at Marriott Marquis. After an excellent dinner at Goji I wanted to show them the rooftop. Arrived, it was quite empty. Most sofas unusable due to rain. Selection of appropriate furniture or covering at rain seems to be beyond their level. Very disturbing loud music. Waitress shown us a table. Then difficult menu reading with QR code and download, many pages with Gin, a minority program. After difficult selection, we wanted to order. The waitress said, my nice is a minor (10 years old, very visible) and may not sit there. Why did she not tell us when we arrived? Extremely embarrassing. Solution: Never again Marriott Marquis and a recommendation to my friends avoiding such...
