It was my last night in Bangkok and oppressively hot and humid so I came down to the hotel restaurant for dinner. I arrived at 8:30 and was the only guest.

I ordered the tom yum soup, garlic pepper spare ribs, and stir fried morning glory. None of my dishes came with rice so I had to order that on the side.

It took about 15 minutes to get my food and it all came out at once. The tom yum soup had three huge river prawns in it and I was asked how spicy I wanted it. It had a really well rounded flavor with lemon grass, lime leaves and a bit of heat. The prawns were perfectly cooked in the broth.

The morning glory was also excellent not greasy or oily with a good hit of garlic and chili. The spare ribs were the only let down. They were a little tough and dry. Good flavor though.

Service was fine. I was the only one there the whole time. There was an annoying issue when paying the bill. I wanted to use up my Thai baht for part of the bill and put the rest on my credit card. The hostess had no idea what I was talking about and we went back and forth for several minutes until she got it. This is a restaurant that's part of a hotel that caters to a lot of international guests. I can't be the first one who didn't want to leave Bangkok with a couple hundred baht in my pocket.

What a delightful restaurant! The staff are tremendous, the food was always delicious, and the atmosphere is calm and elegant. We loved the buffet breakfast, which had a good mix of different cuisines and variety from day to day. We also stopped by for takeaway or for a quiet sit down dinner and always enjoyed the flavorful food. The fried rice with wagyu beef and basil was particularly tasty, and paired very well with a watermelon...
