Normally I try not to write a bad review as I feel parhaps not fair to the restaurant. However given the price here I do think perhaps is better I share my experience to help potential visitors some idea before paying high price.
The dinner is 7000B for Omakase so we decided to try out lunch first and we ordered the Otaru corse at lunch time 4000B.
This review is based on price being 4000B, if. it was 2000B then I will rate as 3 star.
Service very average if were to pay at this level, one will expect better service Server may thought I had money only showed my the expensive menu. Saw the guy next to me got both the grand menu and lunch menu Got the special corse (Otaru)... seriously average sushi. Fresh for sure but zero wow factor Tea that was served was too hot and very watery The chef forgot to serve Toro.. only remembered after finishing the Tamago and miso soup... at this level one will expect flawless execution from chef. I can understand the waiting staff, since new could be not at the highest level but the chef from Japan?? Make such a mistake?
overall it was not bad taste however with 4000B, there are much more choices in Bangkok that can easily double the quality both at the good and service level. If you were to visit I will recommend not go for pricy option. The 1200B lunch set looks just as good and so as the...
Read moreThis was our first Omakase experience and we loved it. Masa seemed to be one of the few omakase restaurants open for Monday lunch, and we were the only diners, which meant we were given very attentive service. Every course was explained by the server after translating what the chef had said, with photos and diagrams for explanation.
Our highlights were the Hokkaido oyster, squid noodles and the ebi sushi (rock shrimp). The swordfish was very unique too. They also organized a cute little birthday cake (which also contained fish!) and it made a for a lovely pre-birthday celebration. Overall we’d definitely recommend Masa! 95% of their ingredients come directly from Hokkaido which is quite something - we loved the purism and simplicity of it. Also, the lunch omakase worked out quite reasonable compared to other similar omakase menus that...
Read morePeople who left good reviews here probably had never had a proper omakase in their life. We had lunch there and could only say the food quality is really average (similar to a those branch sushi chains). This is a real issue when they’re charging sky high amount for the food - nearly £80 for the omakase lunch set which is super high compared to the food prices in Thailand generally. Worse thing - they even served salmon for omakase which is ridiculous. Several pieces were torched - if you understand sushi then you’d know that means the fish are not freshest/highest quality and they try to hide it by torching the fish. Pretentious place trying to scam Thailand people. One positive is that the uni is really fresh and the corn soup is good but that’s...
