We had reserved a table through our hotel and was given a beach sea view. Right as we began our meal, the staff came to tell us they were moving inside as it was about to rain. There was no rain, but we thought it might have been coming so obliged. They moved us inside next to the toilet, and we noticed not a single other table that was outside were moved inside.
Afterwards there was absolutely no hospitality or service towards us and we were crammed inside despite having a lovely table beforehand. When we paid, they did not give us our change or receipt and made us sit at the table for 15+ minutes waiting. They finally brought the receipt but no change, and we had to go up to the cashier to dispute it before they finally gave it to us. As we were leaving, about an hour after they moved us inside, there was still no rain and we found that not only were the outside tables full, our original table also now had people seated in it. There was absolutely no rain before, during or after our meal.
I suspect there's some racism at play here, seeing my mum and I were not white tourists, they moved us inside and treated us like second class humans and instead showed hospitality and warmth to their white patrons.
The food is also overpriced and nothing special. Would not recommend, completely ruined our night and still can't figure out why we were chased away from our original table. We're all paying...
Read moreWe were staying at the Holiday Inn nearby and noticed Krua’s beautiful beach seating with trees and great selections on the menu. We also noticed some bad reviews but decided to try Krua Bophut and form our own opinion and we are thrilled we did. Krua had several vegetarian options that I could chose from and they were happy to customize any dish and make without meat. Our food was delicious, the presentation was amazing and menu reasonably priced for the location. We also enjoyed wine and beer. The service was fantastic with all servers working as a team. They were very attentive and we never had to flag someone down when we needed something. The atmosphere and beach seating was the best we experienced in Fisherman’s village. We dined at many nearby restaurants during our stay and Krua was by far our favorite dinner spot. We also recommended Krua to others we met during various tours on Samui. Thanks to Krua staff and chef’s for a...
Read moreAmazes me how some of the reviews show clients coming back here. Food was terrible and not even close to where it needs to be.
Sweet and Sour Pork (for kids) was made with a pre-made sauce, overcooked and you could taste the “instant sauce”.
Chicken Pad Thai… not sure even possible to screw this up in Thailand. Not fresh, not in the slightest. Drowned in sauce! Pretty sure also out of a bottle.
Grilled fish was cold, over cooked and also drowned in sauce.
Masaman Beef had chunks of thick beef so chewy a steak knife couldn’t cut it. Yep, also in shock for such a simple Thai recipe.
Thanks to all the reviewers that gave this a 5 star… seriously, please be honest next time! This restaurant just took a load of money from us for a not even average experience.
If you want good food in Bo Phut - go to Red Moon! 10/10 and casual, easy, low key. Or Coco Tam’s for something more funky, great tunes and a real...
