I went to this place after searching google for Italian restaurants in Bangkok. I did not reserve a table. I was seated immediately when I walked in. I have to say Ji, my server, was excellent, attentive and very prompt. I ordered very simple dishes. Carpaccio first. It was excellent and flavorful. I would have liked some capers for acid but I used a small bit of lemon and it was just right. Then Cacio e’ Pepe’ a simple dish that can be very hard to get right. I have to say it was flavorful and with excellent balance of flavors. The best I’ve had and I’ve tried many. The lemon Gelato was superb as well. I would go here 3 times a week if I lived here. We have been here before and it was very good. This time we noticed that there were some changes. The amount of cold cuts had shrunk considerably, we had the small portion, but six different small slices for THB 450++ was highly overpriced. The pastas were anything but original Italian, the pasta with ham and mushrooms was way too fat and more ham than pasta, the pasta carbonara was more of a cream pasta than it should be, I missed the egg on top and also didn't taste any parmesan in it. We find the level of the dishes far below what you may expect for the price you pay, maybe it has to do with the fact that there are only Thai employees in the kitchen, call it Italian with a Thai sway. Total disappointment. Got this recommended by a friend for their pizzas. Tried and could not swallow it. Pizza totally soft and oily and not crispy at all. i would say Pizza Hut level. Kindly they did not charge it. Ordered then instead bruschetta pomodoro which was ok and spaghetti carbonara. The cabonara was totally over salted and the pancetta not crispy. The carbonara I also returned and paid in full. Best experience about this place is the bread basket and the water. The staff is not trained and are not really interested if I liked the food or not.
