We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and we were very satisfied with our stay.
Our room was nice, had everything you might need, wasn't too big but we spent most of our days out in the city so we used the room mostly for sleeping. Bed was big and comfortable. Room has been cleaned daily, bottled water restocked everyday etc.
Good breakfast, enough variety and I really liked the broccoli & shrimp stir fry and the seasoned rice. It's not a "100 different breakfast options" type of buffet, so if you're looking for smth like that then maybe keep looking, but overall we really enjoyed breakfast, you get something different everyday.
There is a pool on the roof (8th floor), there are sunbeds, the area is nicely lit when the sun is down and it has pretty nice views. We used it almost everyday. The only small drawback is the music, it's like 10 songs on continuous loop, please update the playlist🙏🏻 Also the pool could be open until 11pm or even midnight, 10 pm closing was quite early for us but still it was a nice place to rest.
Location worked very well for us when it comes to sightseeing, it's like 3-5 minute walk from the BTS station and they also have a option of giving u a lift to the station. There are two 7 elevens right next to the hotel. We felt safe in the area. The Lumpini park is really close so we recommend going for a walk and enjoy a 7-eleven Matcha honey-lime whilst, watching the lizards 🦎
Staff was very welcoming, always smiling, English-speaking, always spoke in a subdued voice so other guests wouldn't be disturbed. Overall I'd say that they made good choices when recruiting.
What I would suggest as a nice addition for tourists is maybe making a small map (nothing fancy) of local places to eat, we sometimes felt lost when it comes to finding places that aren't restaurants. We really wanted to eat in regular Thai bars/pop up food stands and since these are not listed on Google Maps sometimes we found ourselves wandering on the streets looking for something to eat for a long time.
Overall it's a very nice hotel, great value for the price, really nothing to complain about, we enjoyed every second there and we would highly...
Read moreI enjoyed my stay at Quarter Ploenchit, so much so I’ve booked to stay again at the tail end of my trip. The Wi-Fi was strong, the staff helpful, the bed was incredibly comfortable, I liked the design of the bathroom connected to the bedroom with glass to create a more open concept. The rooftop pool was lovely as well and the gym seemed to get quite a bit of use too. This place deserves 5 stars for location and the competitive pricing but one should be mindful that this hotel does have some minor less attractive attributes: I noticed areas of my hotel room that should be renovated and fixed up, like peeling paint in the bathroom for instance. Also, the sound insulation is poor as you can hear people in the hallway and the buzzing of the street noise but I used earplugs because I’m a light sleeper. But for the price and the location this hotel really can’t be beat. I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that but overall, this place is great value for money in central Bangkok and a 5 min walk to BTS Ploenchit. I also loved the proximity to Lumpini park, which is a great place to take a stroll and go to the local breakfast market. Lots of food options a quick walk away from this hotel. If you’re on somewhat of a budget and want to stay in the heart of Bangkok, this is an excellent option!
Edit: staying here a second time around, the thin walls and sound insulation are quite bothersome. If you end up sharing walls or even a floor with loud guests (like I did unfortunately), then too bad for you. If quiet is important to you, then it might be worth it to pay a little more and stay somewhere with better sound insulation. Again, the staff have been really lovely but they can’t do much about guests who communicate by yelling. They let me store my bags for the day of check out so I could finish some shopping nearby so that gesture was very...
Read moreI recently stayed at The Quarter Phloen Chit by UHG for two nights and had a generally positive experience with a few notable exceptions.
Location: The hotel is located approximately a 6-8 minute walk from BTS Phloen Chit station, exit 4. While the distance is manageable without luggage, it becomes quite inconvenient if it's raining or if you have heavy bags. This is because the sidewalks have high curbs and frequent interruptions, making it challenging to navigate with luggage.
Breakfast: The breakfast offerings were pleasantly diverse, with a good selection of foods, including various traditional Thai dishes. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations, making it one of the highlights of my stay.
Staff and Facilities: The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, which added to the positive experience. The hotel boasts a range of facilities, including a swimming pool and a well-equipped gym, both of which were well-maintained and useful.
Room Comfort: Unfortunately, there was a significant downside to my stay. I was in a room on the 8th floor, and despite having the window and curtains closed, the noise from the traffic outside was very loud throughout the night. I do not consider myself a light sleeper, but the poor soundproofing in the room was a major issue. This is the one drawback I feel compelled to highlight, as it impacted my overall comfort.
In summary, The Quarter Phloen Chit by UHG offers great amenities, a good location relative to public transportation, and wonderful staff, but the noise levels in the rooms due to inadequate soundproofing are a serious concern that potential guests...
