This review is based on my 10 nights stay from Aug 10 - 20, 2022. Overall, 4.5 stars experience! Will visit again :) It was my 1st time at this DoubleTree (I had stayed for 10 nights in Feb at DoubleTree Sukhumvit). Staff - 5 Stars! Staff, from managers/team leaders, wait staff, doormen, maids, ALL were consistently professional and welcoming. You have a sense that they are a TEAM that supports each other and helps each other towards one goal - making guests happy and making sure that they enjoy their stay. I can’t remember everyone’s names but some memorable staff were: Khun Numnim and her front desk team (Patricia?) were great from the time I checked in until the time I checked out, and the various time I asked them to help with changing money etc. Mike is a true asset to the bar/restaurant side of the operation. You can tell he’s very experienced from how he directs team members around the busy breakfast service, while actively lending a hand to clear dishes or get drinks for guests, and also greeting and chatting with guests when time permits. Khun Guide was also great to see in action during breakfast. I LOVE how they remembered what I like to drink (hot jasmine tea to start, double espresso to finish) and even treat me to some papaya knowing that was my fav at breakfast, but it wasn’t on the rotation that day! Bar - Khun Pare & Khun Tik were GREAT, Pare makes the best mojito here or in Miami and I probably had 1/2 a dozen from him (bold lime and strong mint flavors in his mojito). Tik makes the best Blue Kamikaze (sweet, sour)! They were friendly and happy to see you enjoying their creations. The ladies who clean/make up the room on the 19th floor were exceptional! 5 stars - my King guest room on the 19th floor - water temperature, pressure and cleanliness was perfect (no strange odor or color, etc.). Although the WIFI wasn’t working at the gym/pool for most of my stay, it was switched on a day or so before I checked out. A review claimed the hotel’s location is difficult to find - that’s false. The hotel is a 30 seconds walk from the much larger JW Marriott hotel, and 2 mins walk from Ploenchit Center (office, shops, super market), and a Best Western hotel among others. Moreover, just about all taxi, Gab, or Bolt drivers use app navigation so it’s ridiculous to say you’ll be expected to help them find DoubleTree. LOCATION - 3-4 stars: DoubleTree is about a 3 mins walk to Ploenchit Center where there’s a big McDonalds, Starbucks, supermarket, and other shops/eats. It’s about a 6mins walk to Ploenchit BTS station or 8mins to Nana BTS station. Central Embassy mall (just 4mins past Ploenchit BTS station), where there’s a lot of shops and GOOD eats, including my FAV dim sum branch of Din Tai Fung in BKK. For those who want the beer bars, Hooters, night life, MJ smoke shops, they are just one street over - less than 5mins walk! Hotel reception/lobby/bar/restaurant/pool;/gym - 4stars! As you can see from my pictures, the reception, lobby/bar, restaurant sitting areas, and gym/pool (wish the pool were bigger/deeper, but there’s nice new poolside furniture) were all clan/renovated. It’s nice to see they have a LARGE restaurant/dinning area where you’re welcome to bring a laptop to work or meet friends, chill and have snacks/drinks from the kitchen or bar at any time of the day, besides the sofas/seats along the wall next to the reception area and bar seating. Finally, 2 small details I loved about my room - the smart lighting - it automatically comes on (and the AC) when you return to your room after being away for maybe 30mins or longer - great when you open your door & not looking into a dark room! Also, the rain style shower head was so relaxing! While DoubleTree Sukhumvit makes you feel like you’re in a nice, giant hotel, this hotel feels more cozy and allows a closer interaction with staff who makes you feel like it’s your home away from home. I’m looking forward to my next stay at DoubleTree Ploenchit! Thx u, keep up your excellent service!

LOCATION Great location close to Jodd Fairs food market (new location for 2025), mainly food and Pratunam Night Market food and shops. You are close to the BTS Sky train which is cheap and fast compared to Grab ground transportation as the streets are slow going plan on extra 20 minute wherever you go (that's just Bangkok)! 4.6 km to walk and I am not a motor bike taxi rider, but if you are this might be the fastest way around. When checking in they hand you a warm chocolate chip cookie a signature of Double Tree worldwide And when we got to the room and had settled in we got a knock on the door and they had brought us complimentary mango sticky rice and chrysanthemum water. My first time but I may never drink normal water again. ROOM We choose the balcony suite - it has a lovely outdoor, spacious by anyone's standards, balcony / patio with a seated area and a morning breakfast bar and a lovely view. You leave a 1000 baht per day refundable deposit for incidentals so be prepared for that. Our room was a suite with a foyer and seated desk / work space, a spacious bath room with a deep soaking tub, and a standing shower big enough for two (both shower and tub:)) past the work space there is a love seat and small lets call it a living area and a spacious bed room that looks out on to the very large patio / balcony. It will be hard to go back to the smaller room at the other Double Tree. The room rates run from $180 to $220 a night on discount sites like Agoda for the suite and as low as $75 for the regular king bed room (depending on the time or the season). FOOD We did the all you can eat made to order menu (not a buffet) Here is a detailed list of the fair we choose (see menu for all options). There were 5 soup options - we could have gotten all 5 - but I am frugal and would have felt bad ordering and not eating - which we actually did on some items just because I wanted to taste them. We choose the potato leek and the mushroom. The potato leek was my favorite and I don't like leeks and potatoes. I feel like there was a cheese and chicken stock added the made the flavors burst to life. I am drooling as I write this do not fail to try this soup. The lady had the Mushroom which I will describe as a mushroom truffle soup - likely black truffle - IYKYK. It was good but I have had equally good mushroom truffle soups at 5 star restaurants and this matched those but the uniqueness of the leek soup and flavors blew me away. For pastas we choose carbonara and arabbiata, the carbonara was creamy and smoky and the arabbiata was spicy and smooth. Our starters were the wings and the spring roll, the wings dripping sauce was the typical sweet and spicy panda express style sauce which I started eating with the spring rolls as most places in the States pair those two items together. There was a spicy sweet lemon sauce that was actually for the spring rolls as well and it give an otherwise standard same as dish like spring rolls a unique, fun and surprisingly exciting twist. And the sweet and spicy paired equally well with the chicken wings or in this case baby drumsticks. I must confess I had to try each sauce with each appetizer and all the combinations were great. Green curry was great, as was the crab fried rice and the green curry chicken. Each was as good as some of the best versions we have found in the food markets. Drinks were more chrysanthemum water and iced tea which they made special as here tea is served hot - I think it was and earl grey. I think there was more but that is all i can remember. There was not one bad dish. For desert same same - we had strawberry ice cream and coconut ice cream. The coconut was like a cream ice cream mixed with coconut sugar a very subtle sweet with and huge coconut flavor and the strawberry was unlike any strawberry ice cream I have ever had ... it had the flavor of a tangy strawberry sorbet with the creamy consistency of ice cream. This is how I want all my ice cream to taste.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Doubletree Ploenchit in Bangkok, a hotel I've always admired from our rooms at the Conrad. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience, and I'm happy to share my thoughts in this review. First and foremost, the cleanliness and overall condition of the hotel were exceptional. Everything appeared new and well-maintained, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Moreover, the staff members were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. From the bellboys to the restaurant hosts, front desk staff, and maids, everyone made me feel welcome and attended to. I must highlight the assistance I received from the Assistant Front Desk Manager, Sam. His helpfulness and professionalism made a significant impact on my stay, and I appreciated his attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile. As a Diamond member, I was delighted to find that one of our three rooms was upgraded to a King Premium room with a pool view. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing space to unwind after a busy day. Though the hotel lacks a dedicated lounge for elite members, they compensated by providing drink vouchers, a thoughtful gesture that was greatly appreciated. The breakfast selection at the hotel was impressive given that it is "only" an Doubletree, with a wide variety of options and high-quality offerings. As a Diamond member, I was pleased to see a separate sign on the table, recognizing the hotel's acknowledgment of my loyalty status. While the pool may not be as attractive as those at some other nearby hotels like Hilton Sukhumvit or Conrad, the rate I paid, approximately 2000-2500THB, more than made up for it. The value for money at Doubletree Ploenchit is exceptional, especially for business travelers looking for a comfortable and well-appointed stay in Bangkok. In conclusion, my experience at Doubletree Ploenchit was positive in every aspect. The hotel's cleanliness, friendly staff, and recognition of loyalty made my stay enjoyable. Although it lacks certain amenities, the reasonable rates and overall experience make it a property I would undoubtedly consider staying at again during my future visits to Bangkok for business or leisure.

Thx u, keep up your...

This is how I want all my ice...

Although it lacks certain amenities, the reasonable rates and overall experience make it a property I would undoubtedly consider staying at again during my future visits to Bangkok for...
