Disappointing meal, but perhaps my greatest error was having such high expectations.
With michilen being thrown around this restaurant it wouldn't be surprising to expect a lot from this restaurant.
We came for lunch on and had the bentonite lunch set.
Food: 3/5 The good - sashimi was very fresh and room temperature, tasted succulent. Rice dish was very nice. Chicken was nice The matcha pudding and red bean was lovely too.
The average - the teriyaki salmon was ok, vegetable dish was also ok, as was desert of fruits
The disappointments - tempura, very underwhelming
Ingredients were a mix bag, some were clearly better than others.
Venue - 3/5 The views were excellent, but the rest of the restaurant was so gloomy and the decor was very dated.
Service - 2/5 Clearly the staff were trying their best, but when it gets busy no one is assigned tables and it becomes a free for all mess. We asked for tea refills multiple times which were forgotten, our food took much longer to come out, and the usual slap in the face when customers who came later and ordered the same bento got theirs before us. A sense of general disorganisation amongst the staff.
Another note was the service of the hotel staff in directing at the entrance of the hotel for car parking was shocking, very lazy staff, not helpful at all, staff at the 24th floor reception were much...

The quality of the ingredients is consistently exceptional—always fresh and delicious. The craftsmanship in both cooking and plating each dish is truly impressive. The service is equally outstanding; the staff are attentive from the moment you walk in, and the overall atmosphere is warm and refined. Everything is top-notch, and we’ve never had a reason to complain.
One of our favorites is the giant sushi rolls, generously filled with a variety of seafood and vegetables in every bite. The tempura is also a standout—crispy, flavorful, and never overly salty. The shared mixed sushi platter is not only beautifully presented but also offers a delightful range of flavors from each distinct type of seafood. And the Unagi Don—delicate river eel grilled to perfection, glazed with their signature sauce, and served over steaming Japanese white rice—is...
Read moreYamazato is an upscale Japanese restaurant located in the Okura Prestige Hotel on Ploenchit. Their menu has all of the classic Japanese cuisine dishes. All of the dishes were high quality and made with precise flavors. We had a party of 10 and dined in one of their private rooms which feels like being in Tokyo or Seoul. The furniture is high end and their staff are attentive. Unfortunately, I didn’t take many photos of the food but I guarantee you will enjoy dining there. The beef steak was a favorite of ours, same with the pork udon. Also, their sashimi salad was delicious! Their dressing was flavorful and the fish was still high quality even after sitting for a while. We were all stuffed!
I would definitely go back again. I feel that the price is justified considering all factors: location, decor, quality of food, and attentiveness of the staff. Definitely recommended if you are looking for an upscale Japanese restaurant that has comfortable private rooms. The restaurant also has quite a few tables if you are dining with a smaller group. I’ll take more...
