Modern place serving the buffet breakfast for the hotel guest, but will happily serve ale carte Thai food if asked. We decided not to pay for another English buffet breakfast but to go for something local, and they didn't disappoint. Pineapple rice was the best. It is not the sweet version some western style restaurants serve. Pad Thai was less so as it comes out rather sticky and wet, although the presentation was impeccable. The snacks platter was pleasant with some interesting fish cakes and tasty spring rolls. Generally well done considering it was 9 am when we ordered these ale carte items. This place just straight robs you. Appetizer was fried chicken spring roll....about 5 spring rolls and 3 had no chicken at all!!! Just the noodles. Even the other 2 just had some tiny slivers of chicken. Main course was the same with wok tossed chicken dish having barely any meat and covered in veges! Had a amaretto sour....1st time it was made it was half glass and too sour to drink...it was remade and full glass this time but tasted no amaretto. We went there with my wife and two sons. We couldn't decide what to order so we got the Seafood Set Menu and just added yellow chicken curry for meat. Everything was great! We really loved the softshell crab appetizer, prawns in coconut milk and the dessert sampler of sticky rice with mango, coconut pie and coconut ice cream. The staff were very accomodating and smiling particularly Nuna. The experience was made more special by the cultural dance show while enjoying our meal. We really recommend Kantok if you're looking for authentic Thai fine dining that's worth what what...
