I hardly write bad reviews, but today I want to express my deep disappointment regarding the unacceptable behavior we experienced from one of your staff members during our recent visits to your The Coffee Club opposite beach in Phuket. On Tuesday morning, we came in for breakfast. One of your staff members approached us with a very unfriendly and disrespectful attitude. She had a stern, unhappy expression, spoke in a harsh tone —and showed absolutely no courtesy or warmth throughout the interaction. It felt as if we were being scolded, not served. There was no greeting, no smile—just rudeness. Despite this, we decided to give your restaurant another chance and returned the next morning. However, it was extremely hot inside with no air conditioning, so we decided to leave. As we were about to drive away, the same staff member stopped our car, raised her voice at us, and aggressively accused us of not paying for our meal the previous day. We were shocked and embarrassed. While we couldn’t be 100% sure in that moment whether we had paid or not, we have never left a restaurant without paying, and would never do so intentionally. In fact, we were relaxed and even took photos before leaving the previous day—no one informed us of any issue or reminded us about the bill at that time. If there was genuinely a problem, it should have been brought to our attention then—not later, in such a hostile and humiliating manner. To resolve the matter, we paid 1,300 THB for 2 breakfasts, 2 drinks, and 1 dessert—just to put an end to the uncomfortable situation. But the entire experience left us feeling disrespected, wrongly accused, and extremely disappointed. The staff’s behavior made us feel like we were being treated as criminals or even scammed. Though food and drink was nice, but Please if you do customer service, ensure that future guests are treated with the basic respect and professionalism that any restaurant should uphold. We arrive just after 12pm for lunch, we pick a table and spend 10 minutes trying to get the server (who turned out to be the manager) to see we are ready to order. We order and they bring our drinks but no cutlery, like the other tables received. We hear the kitchen bell ding several times but the servers don't seem rushed - seems more like the chef's impatience with servers than actual orders. We then wait till 12:50pm (40 minutes since ordering) to receive the WRONG food. There weren't any apologies or "we'll get the correct food straight away" as anyone who has worked in the service industry would know. We then wait till 13:10pm and still have no food. Fruit flies are buzzing around our empty glasses (we were inside). We ask to pay for our drinks and leave and they say our food is "ready", so we sit back down but don't see it in the kitchen window. Staff don't rush over or show any interest and go back to wondering around. We wait till 13:15pm and say we have had enough. I translated that we have been here for 75 minutes and want to leave. They talk amongst themselves and finally find someone who takes our food off the bill (who knows where the 'manager' went!) but they still add their 10% service charge. I saw their healthy shakes and wanted one of those. When I asked what was in them, the server who couldn’t speak English (even though they market themselves as a western based food company) kept on saying syrup. For a natural healthy based smoothie, I am shocked that they use fake syrups. They had to grab a manager which still struggled to help me. I finally got my order put in. The service is slow, the food prep was slow and the food is mediocre. They got my smoothly wrong and brought it out with a broken lid. While I was waiting, the server brought 3 other people’s food over, even though there was only 6 people. I asked for my food to go and again, they couldn’t do that correctly.
