Unfortunately the food here was nowhere near good enough for the price. We were really disappointed. One item on the 990 Bhat platter was three small pieces of crab stick you can buy from 711. Not even snow crab from 711, just the basic artificial stuff. It should not exist on here when you can literally buy live crab from a huge Makro Go less than 1km away.
The service and the staff are friendly, although they do hover and are over attentive - taking the plate within 1 second of finishing eating. It felt a little uncomfortable having a lot of staff standing and watching constantly!
The sashimi roll was not fresh and was pre-made, simply unwrapped from the fridge and cut into 4 small pieces so the Nori was not nice. When we were the only customers in the restaurant, can you just make it fresh?
The large fish roe was really fishy and did not taste good. The lamb skewer was hard to eat and a staff member came to help get the meat off the stick because it was quite tough. Very expensive for essentially 3 mouthful size pieces of lamb and some vegetables. There seemed to be only one ramen broth, but it was not very rich. Very average.
The karrage chicken was cooked well, but tastes like they used wonton wrappers and not a tempura batter, so didn't taste like karrage at all.
The caramelized pork was the standout and by far the best dish we had - beautifully cooked and a generous serving, compared to the rest of our meal.
For 3600 Bhat we had one drink each and not enough food, but not good enough to order more 😞 It also feels bad when there is an additional 10% charged for VAT and 7% service charge on top of already expensive prices.
This place looks like it is amazing but does not deliver on food quality or...
Read moreWhat a surprise of a place! I usually research before selecting a place to eat, but time is limited when hungry. And I’m happy I stumbled upon this restaurant.
FOOD: It is rare to find a good mojito, and by good I mean a balanced one. And their Passionfruit Mojito was on point.
I started with Xiao Long Bao, and it was really good. But their Shrimp Lobster Taco was phenomenal. I wanted like 5 more!
I also had their Japanese WasabiBeef Mini Burger, and delicious too. It had a spicy kick that was different from other spicy food I’ve tried, and I believe this is characteristic of wasabi.
My spouse and I ended with the Pandan Creme Brulee, and I was starting to like Pandan, but this didn’t help. The only bump of the entire experience. As their Lava Cake with Matcha was de-li-cious!
SERVICE: From the moment I walked, I was greeted with kindness and courtesy.
VIBE: Open and weird in a good way, because it seems fast-paced but not enough to interrupt a date night. It is actually a good place for good meals, with good service in a pop modern space.
Highly...
Read moreThe food is nice enough but you feel like you are sitting in a cafeteria with huge glass windows so people on the street will stare at you - it is not a place to be cozy. Ordering is still done with QR code and the food arrived almost too quickly to be freshly prepared.
But what really irks me is that they add 7 % VAT and 10 % service charge WITHOUT mentioning it anywhere on the menu. I know that some fine dining adds those charges later but it is always clearly communicated on the menu and not sneakily added. Waitress says that it normally says it on the menu which doesn’t really make sense - not her fault at all but I really dislike this practice.
Edit: After reading the reply from the restaurant - I checked a few times on the QR code menu where it said anything about the extra charges and couldn’t find it. I asked not one but two waitresses to show me but they couldn’t. So this to me would imply that it is buried somewhere very deep in the fineprint - again, just not transparent - let your patrons know what to...
