Update 2024 March Came back to Phuket to visit this iconic cafe. Their craft drinks have improved and have an extensive menu that is creative and delicious. If anyone wants to try Thai style specialty coffee and craft drinks, i highly recommend coming and visiting this place!
Update 2023 Jan Came back to this beautiful cafe after 2 years. The menu has improved - they have speciality coffee options available and the food is still great. Popular place to visit see irreplaceable interior and excellent dessert/ food options. Definitely recommend anyone in town to visit this historical and spacious cafe!
Spacious cafe with history, style and fantastic coffee.
The cafe was opened very recently. the ambiance of the cafe is stunning. You are first welcomed by a classic black car that reminds you of the 1940s. As it is located in the oldest hotel in phuket and a museum, the interior matches its theme. Every corner has items collected throughout the years. As an avid record lover, it was exciting to see that there was a place that celebrated the classics that do not fade in time.
Aside from the beautiful collections, this place is a great place to work and spend time with friends and family. Music is soft (this helps a lot) and because it's so spacious (very hard to find in old town), you can utilise the space as you like. A large desk is provided for those who wants to work quietly and comfortable sofas are all around for those who are there for a good time. There's a private bathroom in the building only for cafe users so very clean and new.
One other thing that impressed me was the coffee. Hard to find good quality coffee around the area but considering how affordable the coffee was, it was amazing to see the variety of drink menu as well as dessert. (Do try the brownie shots. It is mind blowing) This cafe also has brunch menu so a great place to spend a lazy weekend. I highly recommend it for everyone who needs a coffee break from the sun and to experience some culture. I highly recommend the museum as well - balance the trip with some history and...
Read moreFirst of all, the Café has really cool interior and is at least therefore definitely worth a visit. We also got there one of the very few really good cappuccinos we drank in Thailand. BUT, the service was pretty slow. It took them a long time to provide us the drinks. Seemed the process to handle customer orders overall could be optimized. Also my breakfast (Avocado egg sandwich) was a joke. It was a very small portion and definitely not worth the price. The orange juice was also not fresh made. Plastic: they seem to pack everything in plastic?! Why to you pack the cutlery into a small plastic cover just before you give it to the customer?! Why do you still use plastic straws for the drinks which are packed in a plastic cover as well? Sorry, but in 2023 there already exist lot ways to avoid producing...
Read moreI’ve been coming here to work remotely a few days a week, and I find this place very laid back with a nice, quiet vibe.
The chairs are very comfortable, and there are large tables which are great for working or for groups of up to 6 people. I sometimes post up at one of these big tables for an entire day to get work done.
The staff is exceedingly friendly and service is fast. I wish they served Thai food here, because the menu is mostly Thai version of western breakfast, which is not my favorite.
The food is not bad, but the coffee is excellent. There are around 20 varieties sourced from various countries throughout the world—Asia, Africa and South America.
I highly recommend getting an espresso shot of the Thai Anaerobic—it’s great stuff! And don’t miss the mixed berry...
