I’ve walked past by this restaurant so many times in the past years and never thought of trying it. I assumed it might be an art exhibition place telling from its look from outside. And I’ve exhausted the nearby restaurants (including the famous “Eat Me”) before I went to this place for lunch today.
Before I went, I checked the reviews and saw one saying “best Chinese food ever. If you are a true lover of Chinese food you must go”. I was like “emm…ugh…” because I’m a native Chinese and a foodie. Very often, foreigners’ reviews are exaggerated. But now I faithfully back up that review.
I guess the chef must be a famous Cantonese chef, and they also have a very good taste and understanding of Sichuan cuisine as well as I tried their Mapo Tofu. Every dish I ordered gave me a wonderful experience. I think even if they open this restaurant in Guangzhou or Shunde, it’ll be very competitive. I think it at least deserves Michelin...
Read moreThis place used to be a go-to but not anymore. New renovation is great, but food is now average and so-so. We have some Peijing duck which unfortunately didn't stand out in post covid era. Parking can be found in nearby building with some friendly stray cats. No parking service allowed. (One of employee offer to, owner at counter immediately said there is no policy on it with accusing look. If you are not a tasty Chinese house-like and try to be elite, careful what you do in front of the customers). Getting a stamp can reduce parking fee. Though the location is new and the decoration is different, the taste of our favourite dishes is just the same. Our favourite dishes are Peking duck, Dim Sum, all kinds of soup (they are very good at soup), Deep-fried Wonton stuffing with spinach and cheese, Prawn with Taro- in Thai is called Goonggrajok lom puek (กุ้งกระจกล้อมเผือก), Fried Fish with XO sauce, and Hong Kong style Beef, and many more.... ahhhhh wanna go back...
