Soondubu (Tofu Soup) Galbi Tang (Short Rib Soup) Pork bbq Set
After going to ton of places searching for the tofu soup that was as good as what I had in Korea, this is the first place in Bangkok that has gotten it right! I was frustrated that many "authentic" places keep messing up the simple tofu soup by either making it sweet or even adding kimchi (guys, I did not order a kimchi jiggae or kimchi soondubu, leave the kimchi out!!!) So finally finding this was such a nirvana experience for me!! Everything tasted so authentic, Galbi-tang also brings me right back, so comforting. Their bbq sauce is so good, salty, sweet, savory, complimenting the grilled meats really well.
There is also a good variation of drinks and soju. Their cold tea is also really nice. The owner is korean and was so welcoming and kind to us.
The only down side is there is no hood or ventilation at all, so it will feel like you will are being constantly smoked. Parking available on the street behind the building. Also easily accessible from BTS Chongnonsri station with only a couple of minutes...

I got to try North Korean soju (rice spirit) which tastes so much more like traditional soju which is called an song soju and is smoother, higher alcohol content, and is just has pleasant flavor notes from attack to release on your mouth! Main stream soju common in South Korea is much harsher (bitter and not meant to savor) The kimchi jjigae was nice and sour and savory, pork was fresh and melted in my mouth-- I look forward to trying the bbq pork belly next time (which is usually the same cuts they use in kimchi jjigae) The owner also gave me some fermented green onion (파김치 pa kimchi) along with Korean pancakes (jeon) for free!
Can't wait...

We drank a few beers, and ordered the pork set. The raw meat was served, together with a number of sides and condiments. I was under the impression that we would get to grill the meat ourselves. We probably could if we asked, but the waitress did it so we used the time to enjoy some cold beers.
About halfway through, the grilled meat is served. While we eat, they change the coals and grid, and did the rest.
This was a magnificent unexpected experience, and I'll certainly...
