Read moreoverall experience was good from reservation to actual day of lunch. i’ve long wanted to try motherbkk way before i’ve visited bangkok, so i’ve really been following them for a while. the reservation was made via instagram, since upon checking their website it seemed full. i was accommodated fast and communication was all smooth from then on until we got there.
the courses are honestly promising, but for this round we got ala carte orders of honey duck and cuttlefish namjin. both were good choices, especially the cuttlefish as i can really bite through it unlike some others i’ve tried beforehand. the chili really cuts through and i reckon drinking water more than usual to cool off before every bite haha, but the spice was bearable and still the kind of spice that’s tasty and kind of addicting.
the honey duck was alright. the sauce was good—the duck alone did taste of honey though could slightly be amped up i feel, but i can’t pinpoint for certain on what aspect right now.
as for the ambiance, it’s a moderate-sized space that has well thought out design i feel and orange-ish warm hues from the lamps. the music playing fit the vibe. good for dates and small groups. there was an artwork hung on the wall of a robot that reminded me of the little prince. you see the staff and chefs cooking your food through the glass walls, which is a fun experience in itself.
we didn’t get a chance to have drinks as we were honestly not that hungry, but for next time when i come back i’m gonna explore through the second floor with drinks and avail a...

"I am writing to share some feedback on my recent dining experience at your restaurant on 16 June.
Overall, I didn't enjoy my visit and the service was quite cold. The highlight of the meal was definitely the sea bass. It was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor.
However, there were a few aspects of the food that fell short of expectations. The picanha was unfortunately quite tough and chewy, making it difficult to eat. The complimentary bread offered after we mentioned the picanha issue was a very kind gesture.
Additionally, the mother salad seemed to have an excessive amount of mayonnaise, which overpowered the other ingredients and resulted in a lack of textural contrast. The pork ribs were a bit dry, although the sauce itself was delicious. Finally, the big sis cherry cocktail was overly sweet for my personal preference.
I understand that maintaining consistent quality across all dishes can be challenging, and I hope this feedback is received constructively. I am a big fan of Thai cuisine and would love to return to Mother Bangkok in the future for a truly exceptional experience, but this was truly disappointing and EXCESSIVELY expensive."
Their email back was also very dismissive. So angry for having spent...
