Excellent food, good service, very reasonable prices. I ate here last night. Not only was it the closest Indian restaurant to my hotel, but I was intrigued. One reviewer says it was the worst Indian food he has eaten in his life, while others describe it as the best Indian restaurant in Thailand. How can there be so much difference of opinion? What's the real story?
My popadoms for a starter were good, but there was only one kind of dip - a green one - but this is a minor quibble. The main course - chicken dopiaza - was excellent. The chicken was tender and the sauce had exactly the right amount of spice and tanginess. The nan bread was fluffy and perfect.
The serving size was very generous and I couldn't quite finish my meal. The Thai waitress and the Indian/Nepalese staff were very friendly and helpful. The bill was the final pleasant surprise. Previously, I have paid significantly more for far less tasty Indian food in Bangkok.
Indian food in Thailand is very hit and miss. In many restaurants the curry doesn't have any bite and there is something missing from the taste, also many restaurants serving Indian food are quite expensive. In terms of taste and price Everest was perfect and I will definitely be...

I've walked passed this place hundreds of times whilst in BKK over the years as I'm usually a Solo Traveller, and thought the meals would be too large for me.
I'm so glad I finally went in.
Our food was Delicious. Watch out for the Green Sauce. 🤯 The serves are generous enough to share. We even had left overs which the staff kindly bagged up for us to take home. A very enjoyable lunch. The staff are kind and friendly. The atmosphere is rather pleasant. Free WiFi.
It's so good we returned again today!
FYI: The vegetable masala contained dairy (paneer cheese). If you're vegan, or for the purpose of dietary requirements, you can order the dish without dairy. The staff were happy to cater to our dietary...
Read moreWe turned up and were the only ones there. The male staff were nice and friendly. Food turned up as requested (starters first, then mains). The butter chicken was lovely, but we were confused by the complete lack of spice in the vindaloo (it still tasted OK and we liked the generous portion of chicken). We would have said something but the place got busy very quickly. The Russian table next to us were playing musical chairs and talking loudly on the phone, some Indian guy was using the speaker phone for a call to his lady, which was annoying, then a large group turned up making lots of noise too. Naturally you expect a bit of atmosphere, but this was too much for us. I guess it's the luck of the draw on how many and what type of customers turn...
