We had dinner at 'thestaycafe' after reading the generally good reviews. The family and staff are very friendly and efficient. The cafe decor is modern, the interior is nice and clean, the airconditioning ensures a comfortable dining experience and while the music was ok (we like Rod Stewart) it is played on a TV screen. Dining in front of the TV might be something you do in your own home. Akin to using your mobile phone while dining with others. As far as the food goes it was ok. We chose; butter chicken, chicken korma, jeera rice, butter naan and an apple soda and a mango lassi. Firstly, the prices that appear on the website are outdated, the portions are quite small compared with three other Indian restaurants we have eaten at in SEA recently. The korma was a nice flavour while the butter chicken was ok but not up to other's we have eaten recently. The apple soda was a fresh apple flavour, but the mango lassi was too salty for me. As with the curries the drinks were not of a generous size compared with the other Indian restaurants. Perhaps 'in defence of my review', they did interrupt our dining on no less than three occasions to ask if we needed to order more curries. The curries deserve a 'pass' but we did order an extra rice just...

I missed breakfast and was feeling very hungry. I went for a stroll but have to admit that I was spoilt for choice with what was on offer by the street vendors. As I was passing this place a delightful lady invited me in to look at the menu. The restaurant was comfortable and welcoming so I took a seat and selected a few items. I'm not a big fan of hot spicy food but there was plenty of variety and enough for me to choose. I had a brilliant meal with rice and I would definitely recommend this as a place to eat. A little more expensive than the food you can buy on the street but well worth paying the extra. The website says they also do accommodation so I went back to enquire about rooms but a manager (or maybe it was the owner) who told me that they no longer provide accommodation, which was most unfortunate. Definitely a place to get some good...

I tried to eat here but the restaurant was closed. Time: 4:00 pm Update. I will change my review to one star due to the mindset of owner, his aggressive way of responding to my review. I came unfortunately to this places as google map stated clearly it is open. Next time, you should change the time in this application if you are not ready to welcome customers who might drive long time to come over here. Or at least respond politely to customers.

My review is to help you to improve your business. The way of receiving complaints from customers is unacceptable using some offensive words “ use your mind”.

You need to know without your customers, your shop is closed.

Finally, I recommend future customers to double check the reviews, because i doubt a restaurant with this mentality...

The food here is fantastic and every time I have visited, it has never disappointed me or my friends/ colleagues. The dishes are generous, tasty and fair priced. The hospitality of the main staff (family owners) is warm and welcoming. It's up to 10 min walk from Victory Monument BTS. The only things I would suggest is to help the other staff in improving their language skills because they seem confused at times when understanding clients. The décor and music should be Indian orientated as it's an Indian restaurant (many people have noticed this). Nobody wants to really hear pop music. I will always come back to this place and I hope they continue to grow and get a larger space but with suggestions taken onboard from patrons.

Went here for lunch after a few recommendations & reading the reviews. Is situated not far from the BTS Victory Monument & Rail link Ratchaprarop .. greeted by the friendly owner . authentic , fresh Indian food prepared & served promptly. It did not disappoint. I had mango lassi , chicken tikka , bread & rice . The chicken was tasty with a nice hint of spice , rice was plentiful, nan bread was ok . The waitress was very friendly too , the service very good. Decor inside very nice with retro lights , clean and tidy . If you in the area go ! Very recommended 🙏 updated April 24. Fantastic Chicken Madras , yellow rice & garlic Nan, great food again May 24..

The discovery of an excellent Indian street food resto. (so called street only cos it located by the street ^^ ) Warm hospitality, modern cool atmosphere, superb marketing, and also great taste as rates. They have buffet 3 times a day that people can book and come. The price is reasonable, the taste is great with good level of spiciness, the owner and his wife (guess so) are very attentive. I was also surprised by the tasty indian candy they offered after checked (as appeares in the foto) Will definitely revisit : )
