1 star is too much. Went there with my wife and her parents for their 40th wedding anniversary as it was supposed to be a great (and famous) place for seafood. The place looks like a workplace cafeteria, no decor at all, white walls with lots of cracks and stains. We ordered drinks and food (out of a menu that has seen better days to say the least, parts of it we cpuld no longer read) from one of the many staff who were literally just standing around, noting that they had "ice" on the menu from between 20-50 baht (this can be the price of a drink or even a meal elsewhere if you are careful). We said no ice being quite put off by it. The drinks arrived warm (as in never ever seen the i side if a fridge) and 4 glasses on a cart, I had to get the glasses for us off the cart (again about 7 staff just standing around). Then 2 of the 4 dishes arrived and were getting cold as we waited for the other dishes. Finally the other dishes arrived several min after our food was now proper cold. And now we had to eat the cold food and warm drinks with all the staff actually watching us from only a few feet away. An extremely unpleasant experience. This was an expensive meal too. I can't understand why this place is considered to be any good, the food quality was just ok at best, pretty much filled the stomach but not satisfying at all. What a waste of a long Grab Car ride, our time and our money to go here....
Read moreWe visited this place as it seems to be less common compared to the more commercial Somboon Seafood. Apparently both are famous for the Thai chili crabs. The crabs were priced at 900baht per kg. which we reckon is more expensive than KL prices. We took a medium size crabs which weighted about 1.6kgs. The dish came in last and the medium sized crabs were considered large or even XL by KL standards. Thai chili style crabs have load of eggs and not much sauce as it’s mostly eggy and the spiciness was much milder. Importantly the crabs was very fresh which makes the dish a lot much better. The fried broccoli with scallops was also very good as the scallops were fresh and there were quite a lot although at 580 baht it’s not cheap at all. Lastly the oyster omelette was not up to our expectations although the oysters were big and large. The omelette was neither fluffy or crispy, and the fresh oyster taste was quite overwhelming. Still prefers Malaysian style. I’m sure there are many seafood dishes we can try the next time we visit again. Menu is quite extensive and prices are not cheap even by Thai local standards. Although it was not crowded the place was filled up rather quickly by mostly tourists or non-Thais. Surely it’s worth another...
Read moreHad a bad experience with the restaurant. Ordered two cod fish, one fried and one steamed. Fried cod fish was served after 10 minutes together with other dishes. The steamed cod fish was served after 35 minutes, after we had finished all our foods. Refused to accept the steamed fish and here the drama started. The supervisor informed the fish was inside fridge and needs time to defrost and cook, thus took long time. I accept the explanation but don’t they need to inform customer that we needs to wait 25 minutes for the steamed cod fish to be served? This supervisor insisted that we pay for the fish. Money wasted is one thing but the service SUCKS and i felt CHEATED!!! They should inform earlier if they needs time to prepare the fish!!! Ended up we paid for the fish and left the fish on the table bcoz of the RUDE service by the barbaric supervisor! Well, compared to two years ago the current service is real bad, with all foreign labours on the floor. Good luck Kuang Seafood, ur 2 years ++ loyal customer will not return to your CHEATING...
