I have eaten here a few times over the years and can confidently recommend the place.
The food: for me is 4/5 stars. The chicken while flavorful sometimes has too much gristle or parts that aren’t edible. The rice is slightly flavored, the broth they serve is the star of the show in terms of flavor.
The staff: every person I’ve encountered here has been super friendly. The younger guy who butchers the chicken is always very friendly, cute and has a smile on his face. A very welcoming individual. 5/5 stars
The atmosphere: small shop with maybe 8-10 tables, fans always blowing and a lot of pictures from over the years on the wall. Good chill ambiance. 5/5 stars
Price: it’s $60THB for the small fried chicken with rice and broth. That’s comparable to other similar places. Cash only. If you’re in the area craving this then I would recommend.
I have not tried the boiled chicken but that seems to be the more...
Read moreWhile exploring the Charoen Krung area within walking distance from BTS Saphan Taksin, I discovered a true comfort food gem apart from Mr. Joe’s Kway Chap and Crab wonton noodle - this chicken rice spot. The combination of perfectly cooked rice, chili with black sauce, and clear soup makes an ideal pairing. I especially appreciate that neither the soup nor the chili has any sugary taste. The owner and servers are warm and friendly, with the owner also able to converse in Chinese. The environment is clean and homey.
Note: Fried chicken is typically sold out by noon. At this place, both Hainanese chicken and fried chicken are served fresh twice a day - once in the morning and again in the evening. Therefore, if the fried chicken sells out around noon, a fresh batch will...

The chicken was served in generous portions, and the fragrant rice was so good that I ended up having two bowls. The dipping sauce served on the side, taste perfectly by adding ginger and chili makes it a true Thai-style experience. Don’t miss the sour plum and lime soup, which complements the meal with its refreshing, tangy flavor. Tips, drink it with the small soup bowl and you will find the wonder!
