Got to stop by for a late lunch and picked a seat inside the glass conservatory with views of the Chao Phraya River and the hotel’s lush garden. The vibe was super relaxing, and the staff offered six-star service. We went for some simple dishes: crab curry vermicelli with betel leaves and, on the staff’s recommendation, beef khao soi. While waiting, the fresh-squeezed orange juice arrived. It was refreshing, but one small thing – they didn’t strain out the seeds, which was a bit annoying since I had to keep spitting them out. I get that they wanted to show it’s really fresh, but it kinda took away from the experience.
Before the main dishes, they brought us some crispy rice crackers with a Thai chili jam for dipping. The dip was spot-on! Shortly after, the crab curry vermicelli was served. The curry had a rich, creamy coconut flavor but leaned more toward the coconut milk than the spicy curry taste. Since I ordered the standard spiciness, it packed the heat, though I think a milder version would probably be toned down for foreign palates.
Next up was the khao soi – thick, tender beef chunks with a deep curry flavor that felt worth every cent. Overall, the food was tasty and did not disappoint, though it wasn’t as fiery as some traditional Thai places. I’d give the atmosphere and service top marks; they were...

Unfortunately, the seasoning was not quite on point. The banana blossom salad had too much sauce and was hard to eat without rice to mellow the acid. The pomelo salad was the better out of the two. The squid was bitter in parts from the grilling, although the roe within had a nice texture. And the river shrimp with the pad thai was less fresh than the random seafood restaurant we tried at Siam Discovery the day after. Oh, please don’t get me started on the pad thai, it had no wok hei and just felt that wet noodles stirred around in sauce.
I make it sound bad, but in reality it was perfectly edible. Of course, paying 90 USD in Bangkok, I expect far more...
Read moreOne of top notch in breakfast menu (buffet). Ordered couple of their speciality. unagi benedict and toast shibuya basically above my expectations. The tempeh phad king kind of bit salty too me. Most of the breakfast menu has smaller proportions which i personally think a brilliant idea, meaning you can try other menus as well. We bring our dog as it is pet friendly restaurant. But as we sit almost at end, i think the service may be bit delay (probably due to restaurant is almost full). Best part of this is, we are able to walk in even when we stay at another hotel...
