The only thing I didn’t like about this place is that they don’t give you a printed bill where you can see what you paid broke down. But I can’t complain much since the prices are on the front of the counter.
🍔 Food Quality - I ordered different proteins and they were all good. The beef’s flavor wasn’t the best, but I put some salt in it and it got better (not bad tho, it’s just that I don’t like plain beef) 🍹 Drink Quality - the wine they serve here was good 🌮 Menu Variety - different options for people who eat meat and those who don’t. 🍴 Service - the girl at the counter was nice to explain everything they serve and spoke perfect English and was very friendly. 🚽 Cleanliness - everything seemed very clean and in its place. Even the toilets 💰 Price - i paid 355 for a varsity of food including wine so nothing to complain about. I saw bad reviews about this place being super expensive but I don’t feel it that way. It was affordable for me. 🌟 Ambiance - some music, very calm atmosphere. 📱 Technology - no digital menus but they do accept credit cards. 💳 Payment Methods - they accept cash, credit cards and it’s cashless friendly. I paid with cashless using Mastercard and it was accepted ;) be prepared if you only do American Express since it’s not accepted. 💻 Laptop friendliness - these space is good for your laptop to fit on the table. There’s even outlets where you can plug your computer or devices. The wifi had a password I didn’t ask for, but they probably...
Read moreWe were excited about this place based on the reviews, but we had a pretty middling experience. As mentioned in other reviews, it's set up as a buffet without a menu with descriptions of the dishes, so you go to the counter and have to ask about each thing you're curious about (no doubt, missing a lot as there are a lot of choices); there is a list on the board of everything with prices but no real way to connect those with what's in front of you without asking or being a regular and/or being familiar with all the dishes. The vibes felt like a lunch spot. When it comes to drinks there's no menu, so you have to either ask for a long list and/or shoot in the dark, including not knowing prices of things. There's also a basket of bread on the table covered in saran wrap that you need for the dips (and maybe charged for?); would have preferred fresh pita or bread as the bread seemed a bit stale. We got one vegetarian main dish, one meat main dish and one mezze plate with 6 dips/sides, plus one small water & beer. The meal cost us approx. $55. Of the dishes/dips, we really liked 3 of the 8 things, with a special nod to the stuffed grape leaves with...
Read moreUnfortunately, my wife and I were extremely disappointed. First and foremost, every single item of the mezzo were simply mediocre. Not one item stood out as being special, not even as good as what we’ve had at numerous other places here in Istanbul and elsewhere. (No “love” in anything.) Second, though touted by at least one reviewer as non-touristic, nothing could be further from the truth. What did stand out were two things: the Aylan—or yoghurt drink—was outlandishly priced at 7 lira. Elsewhere we paid from two to three for the same commercial cup of yoghurt. Even at one of the priciest places in Istanbul the Aylan (poured into a lovely crystal glass, at least) was 6 lira). Meanwhile, the books in numerous languages, prominently displayed, invitation to “leave us a nice review” and obsequious compliments and greetings in two different languages all screamed “we are looking for tourists and that’s where we make our money.
Not an unpleasant experience but sadly disappointed. We had already been to much better places and have since been to many,...
