LİMAN Karaköy — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

one of the worst dining experiences ever - overpriced, inattentive, full of performative tricks to lure tourists. the waiter/manager was inappropriately nice and insisting showing me the menu. I ordered fried calamari and one of the most expensive dishes in the menu - fish cooked in salt that costs 3000 turkish liras. the manager said he is going to show me the fish that will be cooked, but he didn’t. the starter, calamari, was okay, but to get the main dish it took more than an hour. they did the whole performance of uncovering fish from the salt, accompanied by the music played by the local musicians who beg you for money. the performance lasted for about 10 min - and then the waiter served the fish clumsily, with trembling hands. the fish, dorado, looked and tasted uncooked. being a chef myself who dined at many Michelin starred restaurants and knowing how to cook the dish, I was expressed my disappointment. the manager offered a bottle of wine on the house and said that I need to wait for 5 min to get the fish cooked. I waited for about 15 min. the fish was again served on my plate with bones and skin on, stuffed with soggy vegetables I did not ask for. it was inedible because it was uncooked. I said I am unhappy with the quality and the service, asked for the bill and it turned out to be 5000 liras. STAY OUT OF THIS PLACE, THE OWNERS...

We had been to this place before (Feb 2024) and because it was a good experience we went again yesterday. Unfortunately yesterday it turned out to be a total rip-off. We were 2 people who shared one platter with cold appetizers, one mixed salad, one plate of grilled vegetables, one grilled seabass, and we each had one glass of wine, and were charged 170 Euros! The grilled veggies were undercooked and unreasonably priced at 22 Euro. The cold appetizer mix was recommended by the waiter (not on the menu) but ended up being priced at ca. 35 Euro! Another 25 Euro was a "service charge" mentioned somewhere in the back of the menu. The quality of the food overall was good and the waiter was certainly a nice guy but the price was a total joke, given that this is not a fine dining place but rather a shabby...

Just been there walking around. We asked a guy who worked there, for some information about where can we buy a boat trip ticket. He advised us to go on a trip with his friend who owns a boat. We agreed as the price he said was 1000 Tl for 1 hour. we agreed as it sounded a fair price. Before the boarding he charged us 4000 TL. As i have contactless payment i was not paying attention about what he tiped. So i have paid. Im dont care about the money. I just hate when people are scamming. At the end of our boat trip, the boat crew had a nerve to give me a tip box...
