Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because we're diving into the fascinating culinary experience that is Faros Restaurant in Istanbul! 🇹🇷😂
First off, the food. We had the lamb stew and seafood linguine, and let me tell you, it was like a diplomatic mission for your tastebuds. 🤝 Everything was perfectly... neutral. Like, they were playing it so safe, it could've been used as a UN peace treaty. 🕊️ I personally prefer my food to punch me in the face with flavor, but I was scared to ask for spice. You know, you ask for a "little kick" and suddenly you're sweating like you're auditioning for a hot pepper eating contest. 🥵🌶️ No thanks!
Now, the drinks. We asked for an Efes draft, and instead, we got two Tuborgs. 🍺🍺 These things were HUGE. You could've parked a small, slightly tipsy goldfish in them. 🐟🥴 It was like drinking from a tiny, golden bathtub.
The service... oh, the service. Picture a Mexican army, but instead of fighting, they're just really, really enthusiastic about serving you. 🇲🇽🎉 There were so many waiters, I felt like a freshly hatched chick being watched by a flock of overly protective hens. 🐣🐔 They were lovely, don't get me wrong, just... a lot.
The food was genuinely enjoyable, and the drinks were ice cold, which is always a win. 🧊 But the price? Let's just say my wallet did a little gasp. 💸😮 Thankfully, we're staying at the hotel (check out my other review, folks!), and got a sweet 20% discount. Otherwise, I MIGHT have had to sell a kidney. 😅
And guess what? We're going back tomorrow for breakfast! 🍳🥓 Because, you know, discounts. And because I'm clearly a glutton for punishment. 🤷♀️ See you on the breakfast...

I went at Faros Restaurant în Sultanahmet for dinner with my son on February 2, 2025, and it was a terrible experience. The food portions were extremely small, the fries were undercooked, and the chicken strips were so dry they were barely edible. On top of that, the service was awful—staff were completely inattentive, and we had to ask for tissues because none were provided at the table.
The biggest shock came with the bill. A 0.75L bottle of sparkling water cost an outrageous 390 Turkish lira, and the total for our disappointing meal was nearly 2000 Turkish lira ($57.67) This restaurant is clearly a scam targeting tourists, charging absurd prices for low-quality food and bad service.
I would never return or recommend this place...
