A Timeless Istanbul Night – Mimar Sinan Roof

Mimar Sinan Roof, located in the heart of Süleymaniye, is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience, offering a unique story through every detail, all framed by a breathtaking view of Istanbul.

🔹 Warm welcome by Ms. Burcu: From the moment we walked in, Ms. Burcu made us feel at home. She was attentive and professional during the reservation process and welcomed us warmly in person. She personally guided us to our table, listened to our preferences with genuine care, and her sincere conversation added great value to the entire evening.

🔹 Whirling dervish (semazen) performance: The semazen performance during dinner was truly unforgettable. It was more than a show—it was a spiritual moment. Accompanied by traditional music, the performance created a mystical and peaceful atmosphere, especially as the lights of the Bosphorus twinkled in the background.

🔹 A feast of flavors: The menu was rich and everything was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. From appetizers to main courses, tea to desserts—everything was delicious and well-balanced. Even the tea, served in elegant traditional glasses, was perfectly brewed and aromatic.

🔹 Excellent staff: The entire team was warm, attentive, and professional. The waiters were alert and proactive, responding to every request quickly and with a smile. When my friend mentioned a gluten intolerance, the kitchen team immediately offered a thoughtful alternative.

🔹 Atmosphere: The rooftop ambiance, blending the historic skyline of Istanbul with elegant decor, romantic table settings, soft background music, and the mesmerizing dervish performance, created an unforgettable evening that felt like a peaceful escape from the everyday rush.

⸻

Final verdict: From the mystical dervish dance to the flavorful dishes and heartfelt hospitality by Ms. Burcu and her team, everything was a perfect 10. I wholeheartedly recommend Mimar Sinan Roof to anyone seeking a dining experience that touches your eyes, taste buds, and soul—all at once, in the heart...

Our experience at this rooftop restaurant in Istanbul was absolutely terrible. The place is horribly mismanaged, and the service is some of the worst we’ve ever encountered. They don’t take reservations, only walk-ins, which might be fine if they had a proper system — but they clearly don’t.

We waited over 30 minutes for a table next to the edge with a decent view. During that time, we spoke to three different staff members, and even the guests who had just finished at that table agreed we could have it next. After the staff finally cleared it, we sat down — and that’s when things went from bad to shocking.

A man in a green shirt suddenly came over, clearly acting like some kind of boss or manager, and started an aggressive argument with us, claiming the table was meant for two Turkish women who appeared to be his personal friends. We explained that we had been waiting and were already seated, but he continued to pressure us to leave in an extremely rude and intimidating way. At one point, we genuinely felt unsafe, as the situation escalated and he became increasingly hostile.

We decided to stay, mainly because of the view, but the entire experience was deeply uncomfortable and unpleasant. It’s clear they do not treat foreign tourists with respect, and they prioritize personal connections over fairness or customer service.

Avoid this place if you value your time, comfort, or safety. There are many better rooftop options in Istanbul that won’t make you feel like an...

An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Mimar Sinan Roof

My experience at Mimar Sinan Roof was nothing short of spectacular. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a destination that captures the magic of Istanbul.

Let's start with the view – it is absolutely breathtaking. Perched right next to the majestic Süleymaniye Mosque, the panoramic vista truly is "Istanbul's executive suite." Watching the sunset over the Golden Horn, with the historic peninsula and the Bosphorus at your feet, is an experience you will never forget.

The culinary experience matches the view. The menu features exquisite dishes crafted by master chefs, blending modern techniques with authentic Turkish flavors. Each plate was a work of art, as delicious as it was beautiful.

Furthermore, the service was impeccable—attentive, professional, and friendly without being intrusive, making us feel truly welcomed.

In short, Mimar Sinan Roof offers the complete package: world-class cuisine, exceptional service, and arguably the best view in the city. It is the perfect choice for a special occasion, a romantic dinner, or for treating clients to an unforgettable taste of Istanbul.

Highly...
