Since the front area was too crowded, we were directed to the VIP section with the promise that we could move to the regular seats once they became available. Later, when we told the waiter we’d like to move, he simply said, “You already have a nice spot with a great view.” In reality, we were seated in a corner with no view at all.
The waiter was unfriendly and visibly annoyed because we declined the expensive drinks he recommended. Shortly after asking if we needed anything, he suddenly appeared with a cake and a performance – without us ever ordering it. We repeatedly asked who had ordered it, but were completely ignored until the end of the show.
Then, he boldly demanded a tip, claiming the knife couldn’t cut the cake. Shockingly, he even looked into my wallet and insisted I pay in euros rather than Turkish lira. As soon as he got the money, the cake was taken away.
Next to us were 4–5 women who received the exact same show but, oddly enough, didn’t have to pay. It made me wonder if this treatment was gender-based.
When we later asked about what had just happened, the staff told us this was part of the VIP experience. We explained that we had been sent there by their staff and were not allowed to move – but the waiter ignored our explanation and simply said, “It was for the tip.”
Apparently, the VIP seats normally cost 2,000 TL extra. We weren’t charged that amount, but instead, they used this “show” to pressure us into paying. All the staff were extremely pushy – this place is a complete tourist trap.
The music is extremely loud and constantly changing, making it impossible to have a conversation. Prices are ridiculously high, including the...

The Moss Lounge is a true gem in Istanbul! The rooftop offers an absolutely stunning view of the city, making it the perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere while soaking in the breathtaking Istanbul skyline. Whether it’s sunset or evening, the terrace provides an unforgettable experience.
The food here is exceptional – fresh, flavorful, and presented beautifully. Every dish we tried was of the highest quality, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The Nargile (shisha) is among the best I’ve ever had – smooth, aromatic, and prepared with great attention to detail.
What really sets The Moss Lounge apart is the atmosphere. It’s chic yet cozy, vibrant yet calm – a perfect balance for both locals and tourists alike. The service was top-notch; the staff was attentive, friendly, and professional, always ensuring that everything was perfect for us. A special thanks to Arda, Nihad, Nasir, Nurullah, Azat, Merve, and the beautiful Maria, who was so kind and welcoming, making our visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, The Moss Lounge is an incredible spot for a memorable evening with friends, a romantic date, or even solo relaxation. Thank you to the whole team for such a wonderful experience – highly recommend this place for anyone...
Read moreWe have ordered Turkish breakfast for 2 from the menu, the waitress tried to force us to order the third one because we were 3 people but since the Turkish breakfast is big size than usual one person breakfast we said no and keep to our order. He continue to be rude not to mentioned the level of English that we couldn’t communicate the simple order. After he accepted the order than he forced us to order drinks additional one that are not included in breakfast. We agreed with that and once the order arrived we noticed that he with his will added additional 3 bottles of water and put on a bill which was really rude and out of mind. At the end they also charged us with some service fee even though the service was disaster. I requested they send me someone who speaks English because the waitress that took our order couldn’t figure anything right and I didn’t want to pay for something that we didn’t ordered. All of this ruined our 1st morning in Istanbul and impression of the people.
I would never recommend this place since they would try to fool you and behave out of scope of...
