This restaurant is located nearby our hotel so we visited it on the first night of our vacations in Istanbul. It’s a very elegant, quiet and pleasant establishment with the best staff possible; the manager is fluent in multiple languages, is very kind and has impeccable personal culture. The prices are better than most tourist areas in Istanbul; the food is fresh, high quality, and made with aromatic herbs and spices. We are buttered shrimps, penne arabiatta, tomato soup, garlic bread, shepherd’s kebab. All the dishes were absolutely delicious. During the day I could come over with my laptop and do some work over a complimentary cup of tea. We have been coming back here every day of our stay. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and compliments to the chef and the staff. Read moreWe have been to Mister Cook four times while we were in Istanbul.
We have tried many other restaurants but in the end, Mister Cook always had the best food.
From outside the restaurant is quiet and not very flashy. However the food is excellent.
We had sea bass, meat, kebab, some lamb dishes with mashed Aubergine (awesome)…. Everything was perfect.
Waiters are also very kind and Mister Cook is generous. While the restaurant is pricy, you will often receive free items for dinner.
There is also a cute cat called Minoche.
Overall, it’s our favourite restaurant in Istanbul.
Our fav dishes: -Lamb with smashed aubergine (awesome) -Tasty Kebab (it comes in a clay pot in a fire. You need to break the clay pot with knives to eat the meat) -Lamb chops (excellentl) -Seabass (excellent) -Ottoman kebab (a mixed kebab for two persons. Very filling) -Meze: best presented Meze near...
Read moreCarbonara was made with Turkish ingredients covered with super smooth cream and the pasta was cooked al dante. Hurrem Sultan was lamb saute in a special sauce made from dried apricote and nuts which had a balanced taste of sweet and sour. I've not tried this in other restaurants yet ( limited time in Istanbul as a tourist). Hunker Begendi was an amazing and healthy substitute for pizza in my opinion.. The sauce tastes like fresh tomato basil pizza and the meat was tender. The complimentary bread was good. It's not ordinary simit or baguette so we liked a lot. Alll three dishes are really amazing.
There were ard 10-15% extra charge on tax. I have not seen this in other restaurants.
Overall, we ordered 3 dishes based on restaurant's recommendation. Portions of 3 main dishes were big enough for 2 persons. The total cost including tax/service charge was ard 1300-1400 tl...
