located in the heart of Istanbul, Istanbul Kitchen Cafe restaurant's name can be carved in your head as one of the yummy, num num memories in this city. it is located close to Hagia Sofia ( like walking for 10 minutes from the mosque to the west). First off, there is no view from the restaurant so we skip that part. The hospitality of staff is impressive. They are exceptionally attentive and try their best to provide you a good service. Cozy design and warm atmosphere blended with old buildings around, takes you to years ago like a time travel machine. About the taste: we wanted to try traditional dish so clay pot kebab was the target. In addition to have a good taste, how pottery kebab is prepared and served in front of you is wonderful which you should try it yourself

They are scammers, especially targeting tourists.

They introduce a "special" dish that was not priced on the menu. Then, propose a price to the customer, and even give it a "discount." But when one finish the meal, they try to charge for more than what was mentioned before. They would claim that the guy/waiter who lured the customer in was already gone, and the customer had heard it wrong. But do not worry, you did not hear it wrong. Do not back down. In the worst scenario, call the police.

They are also extremely greedy. They try to scam quite an amount of money. They had also played this trick thousands of times already. They are infamous on the chinese social media platform due to these scams. It was unlucky that I encountered them in my trip. What a waste and stain of the...

I feel scammed.

We were 5 people, sat outside, the heating was great. The food was your average overpriced and low quality food from the touristy are. No surprises there.

However, every beef dish we ordered was so tough that the provided knife was not able to do a dent to it. Chewing became a chore, even when one of them was (allegedly) fillet.

We asked for those plates to be changed. And they obliged. That is why the service has 4 stars.

When the bill camed a 18% increase due to an unknown tax, which didn't happened in any other place. Additionally the beers were changed to a whooping 366.42 lira per unit. Yes, .42, which means is that they made up this price due to our returned dishes.
