I went to the egyptian bazaar nearby and this Restaurant was around the corner. It caught my attention as I have not seen a lot of Restaurant in Istanbul that serves fish/seafood. Plus, the place was really packed when I came.
So I tried, i was welcomed and seated by one of their english speaking staff/ maybe the manager. I ordered the grilled seabream and ordered plain rice on the side which seems to have butter or margarine in it( i dont know what its called), it was so tasty! I also had a rice dish wrapped in vegetable leaf served with yogurt on the side and a complimentary local/ turkish bread to accompany your meal. AMAZING!!!
Their toilets are upstairs, small but nice and clean!
In this area of Istanbul, in most places locals speaks english so I was able to ask easily for extra take away after my lunch.
Overall experience for me...
Read moreSO GOOD! Cheap, fast, DELICIOUS. After wandering the bazaar stumbling on the self serve/buffet vibe of Osmanoglu was a welcome treat. The fast nature makes one think it might be adequate as it’s cheap, but the chickpeas and kofte were delectable. Grape leaves, rice, dessert of which I have never had before, all great. The prices are so affordable. I am American and the fact that I only speak English was no issue. Such helpful staff. Seemed mostly locals present. Ambiance is for fast and efficient meals, and not a destination with great views. A nice respite from the hustle and bustle...

It’s not the fancy restaurant where waiters charge you for big beautiful plates and a small amount of food but vice versa: huge plates with lots of food!
We got the order super fast and couldn’t even finish eating everything as it was too much.
Beyti Kebap is totally great 🤤 very juicy meat in bread rolls with sour cream, sauce and grilled veggies. Lentil soup is delicious, too. Of course everything goes the best with Ayran. And lots of free bread is served as well
Found the place accidentally but absolutely...
