Sultanahmet ottoman terrace fish house — Restaurant in Fatih

This restaurant makes an integral part of the Antique hostel where I was staying. After reading so many exciting reviews I was hoping to get yummy food and a nice service, however, the reality was a bit different. The restaurant is situated on the open terrace on the highest floor of the hostel and looks like a hostel's place to hang out, where at 9 pm on Sunday night we were the only customers, though the view was really nice. The only fish they have is farmed but not wild. We ordered it anyway and it was super dry and didn't taste much when served. My grilled vegetables were oily and spicy. In the end of the dinner we received complimentary fruit and tea. No offense, claims and insults, but I got a horrible diarrhea 5 mins after we left the restaurant, which continued for 3 days. I don't know if it was food from this restaurant or my earlier meal, but I felt really bad. The next morning I was having breakfast in the hostel which is cooked in the same kitchen as restaurant's food and served on a different terrace. The tea counter is close to the kitchen's entrance - when I was getting my tea, I could feel a horrible smell coming from the kitchen...

We were in Istanbul and looking for a place to stay. We found a very Nice hostel and above that hostel we were informed that there was an restaurant. We Walked up to check it out and i gotta be honest. Rarely do i meet people with this kind of honest people. They actually care about your opinion and they listen to it. They make you feel at home, and the bonus of it all. Before your meal you are given a basket of bread with some appetizer before recieving your meal. After your meal they give you fruit. Thougout the entire Night they have been nothing but smiling, carring and friendly. I higly recommend anyone who is in the area to check it out. Denmark...

This restaurant was a last minute unplanned visit. It was relatively easy place to find. The last step up into the actual terrace restaurant was higher and more steep to other steps, so be careful going up and down there. The restaurant was nice and bright, well decorated, clean and neat. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming from the first moment. There is a sea view from where we were seated. We had the sea bass and chicken skewers. The food was fresh, well presented, well cooked and it was delicious.
