I waited until the end of my 5-day trip to Provo to write this review and yes, Hemingway's served me the worst food during my visit to Provo - I can say that quite unambiguously. My wife and I stayed at the Sands at Grace Bay and so on the very first day we got in, we had lunch at the Hemingway's after getting in from the airport. My wife ordered a fish taco while I went with their chicken sandwich. My dish was the worse of the two. Remarkably, the bread was unbuttered (yes, there is such a word - I checked :)) and the chicken did not seem to have any seasoning to it even though the description had suggested "lightly jerked." My wife's tacos were better than that but they were soggy and the tortillas had not been grilled which is why they would stick to her palate as she had them.

The service was equally disappointing as well. It took a long time for anything to happen - whether it was getting the food in the first place or getting our check at the end of our meal. The staff were not friendly and thankfully, this was not true of the staff at Sands who were exceptional or staff at other restaurants we encountered who were also very helpful.

Hemingway's was the aberration on our wonderful trip of the Turks and Caicos. They served food that was not well thought-out and with an attitude that would embarrass any islander. Unless you are staying at the Sands and don't feel like walking even a few feet to the Regent Village, you should consider avoiding...

Worst customer service ever. Dinner reservations were made along with an arrangement to have a wheel chair to accommodate my friend. Upon arriving we were told the bellman ran off with the key to where the wheel chair was being stored. So here we are stranded in the parking lot where the taxi let us off. They offered to call us a cab to haul us back to the lobby where we could wait on the bellman. We declined and trudged on with our friend and someone from the front desk. Very exhausted, due to COPD, it put a damper on our meal which was suppose to be a fun well planned evening without episode. The front desk clerk promised we would have access to the chair once our meal was complete..just call the front desk. Someone from the restaurant ran to fetch the chair only to be told there wasn’t one available. Then we were approached by a rude, uncaring man that said well what do you want me to do. His demeanor was a huge put off. Somehow we made it to the parking lot where we waited for a cab that my other friend had to locate at the lobby. Never any apologies, no offer to pay for our cab for not following thru with our needs. Nothing! Really disappointed with the way we were handled. We will never return to this restaurant on our yearly visits to...

The service of the staff is really poor. We had specific reservations for the deck tonight. They even had it written next to our reservation. When we showed up they gave it to a couple what just walked up there 5 minutes ago. Then they made some excuse and asked us to wait after another table cleared up . We waited for 30 minutes after which the same hostess that booked our original reservations came and said we could have an inside table if we wanted it. This was practically appalling for a reservation made weeks ago. Anyways they never admitted their mistake or even said sorry or chose to make any concessions. My wife and I were extremely disappointed at the level service and overall attitude of the staff and even questioned if there was a white vs non-white bias going on.

Anyways we walked out of the hotel and luckily 4 mins away there was a restaurant called “Provence”. We walked up and got a table for 2 with out waiting on a Friday ! Really fantastic food and service. It’s pricier but really worth every bit. I had eaten at the Hemingway on our first night, the food is slightly elevated above a poolside restaurant at best. I don’t think I could this...

Arrived around 7pm without a reservation and they were able to sit us down quickly and staff was very friendly. My wife ordered a virgin piña colada and it was way way too sweet for both of us and I ordered the local Turks Head beer and it was good. Our meals consisted of coconut shrimp, conch trio, and grilled Mahi Mahi. There were about 6 coconut shrimps and they were TINY! For the price I was expecting some decently sized shrimp. The grilled Mahi Mahi was good and the portion was adequate. The conch trio, conch in general, was just not for us. The ceviche conch felt too tough, the breading for the fried conch was very minuscule, and the fried conch balls lacked flavor. Overall, we didn’t enjoy our food and drinks too much here. As it was our first meal on the island we were expecting something better especially with everyone mentioning to go here. Maybe other dishes would have been better but we’ll leave those up for review by someone else.

If you’re in Grace Bay, a stop at Hemingway’s on the Beach is an absolute must! The island vibes here are on point, with a relaxing atmosphere and the sweet sounds of island music playing in the background. The conch fritters were hands down the best I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, served in a beautiful shell. I couldn’t resist taking a photo! 🐚 The Rum Punch? Wow. It was the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing—an island drink that hits just right in the warm ocean breeze. 🌴🍹 A huge shoutout to our waitress, Clara, who truly made our experience unforgettable. She was warm, friendly, and her fun banter made us feel right at home. You could tell she genuinely loves her job, which made the service that much better! I highly recommend Hemingway’s for anyone looking for a delicious meal, great drinks, and that unbeatable island hospitality. You won’t be disappointed! 🌞🥂

We went 3x while on the island; once for lunch, another at the bar for dinner, and carry out for dessert. Each time there was a little something different in service and atmosphere, but the food was consistently good. The outside view is beautiful, of course. #1-Arrived before our room was ready so had lunch. The table wasn't clean, but it was set. The server apologized and cleaned it. My husband ordered fish and chips, and got chicken. Notified the server, it was corrected no problem. #2-Ordered a slice of Key Lime Pie (which is THE best I've had ever), it took a little while, but was not too bad of a wait. Packaging was fine. #3-Went w/o a reservation on a Sunday night (make reservations) and was able to sit at the bar. The bartenders are bartenders, but can put in an order so one did. The place was busy, but the wait wasn't so bad. If dining in, be seated at a table, it's a different experience.
