I would give zero stars if I could. My wife and I were simply enjoying a nice stroll on Grace Bay Road while our toddler was sleeping in the stroller. We stopped by Pizza Pizza and Island Scoop, so that we could grab two slices and then ice cream for dessert.

Pizza Pizza is upstairs and has a steep flight of stairs, so my wife waited downstairs with our toddler in the stroller while I ordered. As it would be difficult to lug the stroller with the toddler inside all the way up. When I came back down with our pizzas, but my wife was packed up and ready to go. The employee from Island Scoop basically told us in rude fashion that we could not sit there.

It’s funny, because the outdoor seating area was literally empty except for my wife and toddler. She was so rude and discourteous we didn’t even bother explaining that we were planning on buying two scoops as soon as we finished our pizzas. So they probably lost out on the only 2 purchases of their Monday afternoon.

If it was busy, and packed, we’d understand and wouldn’t want to take up seats. But, it was empty, and we were going to buy ice cream after, if they hadn’t been jerks.

I’m sure their ice cream is like any typical ice cream. But I am giving one star for their rude attitude, which led them to losing two of their likely only customers for the weekday afternoon.

What a joke the staff are here. Go try the other 8 ice cream places on the same...

RISKY RISKY

Good icecream but VERY RUDE person. The guy there, was the owner.

Everything was going fine until, the cone that my wife had JUST bought from him, broke and the whole thing fell on the ground. We requested him that the cone broke (bottom part of the cone was remained in my wife’s hand) and if he could give us another scoop ($7/scoop) but he didn’t do it. I understand its business but courtesy is also something. I told him its not good business, and requested again to atleast get her a smaller scoop but he did not adhere to it and made a face that i actually feared that he would do something physical if we say anything else.

I wont go near that place anymore, didnt feel safe.

The owner responded with a very sarcastic tone, referring to my profile and attitude, reasoning for my my experience. I am going to cut it short and respond:

Thank you Island Scoop for responding validating my point about your “customer service”. Secondly, i am a “local guide” 5 - level reviewer on google with 35 review (not 29).

To the owner: i don’t have anything personal to you or your business, i just mean to share my experience. I truly request you to take this opportunity to train your staff. I wish...

Soca music blaring so you must shout and they barely hear you. Expensive ($6-10+) and overrated. Waited 15 mins in line at least. I'm happy they at least give samples. I tried several and wasn't too excited about any and just went with coconut due to Google reviews. It tasted 'off'. There is some odd preservative or thickener they use because it stretches upward & sideways and doesn't fall when you tilt the cone, like playdoh. Unfortunately that affects taste. Kids wont be able to tell the difference but I buy ultra premium ice cream at over $12 a pint so by comparison, this was far below standard for me. But most aren't as picky.

Just go to IGA and buy a pint of Hagen Daaz macadamia brittle (which isn't sold in the US)! I wound up doing that the...

This review is based on an August 2022 Visit. TLDR: good tasting, high price. Relaxed environment. Review updated as owner has clarified. There are som flavours with rum but not all. This atmosphere was really interesting. Lots of island vibes with all kinds of signs /posters/stickers with funny quotes. There is lots of seating available all outside. There is lots of shade though to keep the sun out of your eyes. I appreciated that very much. The staff was polite and pleasant. The ice cream seemed overpriced to me but did taste good. I would probably go here again but wouldn't buy much ice cream due to the high price. It is still worth checking out. One star removed for high prices

I woke up this morning at home disappointed that I couldn’t go to Island Scoop for breakfast. By far the best breakfast I have had out of anywhere I have visited. I hate that I didn’t discover them after 3 days into my vacation. This staff was wonderful and friendly. Everything was cutely decorated inside and outside. Make sure you visit Island Scoop for breakfast, if you are staying in Grace Bay. Don’t forget to also visit later in the day for a delicious scoop of ice cream in their homemade waffle cones. Make sure you don’t wait to late, this place is so good they run out later in the evening.

David (the owner) is a fantastic host, stopped in here for the first day of a four day stay to get some breakfast, the waffle with egg and bacon is a must, after we found out about the homemade ice cream this became a regular stop for us everyday for topping off a evening meal to a treat after getting off the beach in the early afternoon, either way you'll have to at least stop by once and give them a try to see. If you are on grace bay rd, it is south of the road just look for the cow, below pizza-pizza. Highly recommend!
