One word- Perfect food.
Food here was very authentic, the ambience was great but the service was something else! Ms.Sagarika (sorry if I'm getting the name wrong) was the happiest, most cheerful waitress we've encountered in Abu Dhabi. I just loved her enthusiasm and attention to detail.
Highly recommend the non-veg platter here, the chicken gravies were all scrumptious, yakhni pulav was finger-licking good, even their breads were the freshest they could be. As a customer who came in just before closing time, I appreciate that you gave us an experience to remember even at a late hour. Also it's great that you people serve a generous portion of dips, raitas and chutneys as accompaniments . I have recently seen such small portions, I'm always surprised by it! The chicken and mutton were also melt in mouth. Love the Hindi music, love that you have a live singer every day except Monday. Will surely see you guys again!
I must say this as the biggest compliment to the owner of this place and the chef-the food was of the best quality, presentation was good too but how you guys made us feel was truly at par with a five star Indian place we recently visited. Huge thank you!
Few suggestions to further improve- 1)I think Desi's have survived long enough without "bottled water"/"fancy water". Please at the very least offer water as complimentary. 2) Prefer cotton napkins instead of tissue papers. I also know that wet wipes, though they seem very sanitary and are a place to brand easily, come at a huge cost to the environment. They are mostly non-biodegradable. Even when wet wipes manage to break down, they shed fibres and those containing plastic slowly break down into microplastics leeching into our ecosystems. Also, whatever happened to being an Asli Hindu and washing up in a bowl of hot water+ lemon just like the old times? Ye videshi aadatein angrejo pe chor do. Unko apna puraana culture dikhao. Aur humko nostalgia feel karne do. Every guest will appreciate the effort. Sure, koi maange toh dedo wet wipes. But let's all try to be more responsible. 3) Please have somebody at your reception till closing time. We came in and for a good 2-5 minutes stood there without witnessing any activity in the place. We thought the place was either...
Read moreI recently visited Aslee Hindi to celebrate my husband’s birthday, hoping for a memorable evening at what was marketed as a fine dining restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations, leaving us disappointed on such a special occasion.
The ambiance was the first red flag. For a restaurant positioned as fine dining, the atmosphere was underwhelming. The lighting was dim in a way that felt gloomy rather than intimate, and the décor seemed outdated, lacking the refinement you’d expect from a high-end establishment. It certainly didn’t create the celebratory mood we were looking forward to. In fact, it felt more like a casual dining spot than the elegant setting we had anticipated.
However, the most disappointing aspect was the food. Every dish we ordered had an odd, gritty texture, as though there was sand in the food. This unpleasant sensation wasn’t just in one dish—it permeated everything from the appetizers to the main courses, making it difficult to enjoy any of the flavors. For a restaurant charging fine dining prices, the quality of the food was shockingly poor. Instead of the refined, flavorful Indian cuisine we had hoped for, we were served meals that were poorly executed and almost impossible to eat.
While the service was decent, it did little to salvage the experience. The staff was polite enough, but there was no real attentiveness to the fact that we were celebrating a special occasion, and the food issues weren’t adequately addressed when mentioned.
In conclusion, Aslee Hindi has a long way to go before it can be considered a true fine dining establishment. The disappointing food, lackluster ambiance, and just average service make it difficult to recommend this restaurant, especially for special occasions. Hopefully, they can take these points into consideration and work on improving the experience for...
Read moreWe had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant. The staff was very courteous, welcoming and there were complementary mocktails, finger food, dessert and tea all of which were superbly prepared and presented. The food can be categorised as "Indo-fusion" with an innovative take on traditional dishes. E.g. Hara Bhara Kabab Sliders, Acahari Paneer on Labneh etc. The taste was good but Chichken Malai Tikka was just okay.
One inconvenience was the AC. It was already a hot summer day and we were almost sweating at our table. The staff tried to fix this, however it seems there was some issue with their chiller unit.
The best part of the evening was the live music which we thoroughly enjoyed. The music selection was good ranging from recent hits to contemporary classics and catered to all age groups. The musician sang with heart and soul and we could hear ourselves joining in on the songs and waiting in anticipation for our next favourite song.
The live music, exceptional service and overall vibe of the place made this a very memorable experience to cherish and definately we would come...
