I recently visited B Laban, located at 807 Hazza Bin Zayed The First St in Abu Dhabi, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Although the food itself was tasty and well-prepared, the overall dining experience was severely impacted by the rude and unwelcoming attitude of the staff.
When I arrived at the restaurant, the first thing that struck me was how cold and indifferent the staff seemed. There was no greeting, and I felt as though I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The lack of basic hospitality was immediately apparent, and it set a negative tone for the rest of the visit. As I sat down, there was no acknowledgment of my presence, and I had to wait far longer than expected to receive a menu or for anyone to even take my order.
When the staff did finally attend to my table, their tone was dismissive and impatient. Rather than making me feel welcome, they seemed bothered by my questions about the menu, giving off an air of frustration. This kind of behavior was incredibly off-putting and made me feel uncomfortable throughout the meal. I understand that restaurant staff can have off days, but the level of rudeness I experienced went beyond that and made the entire atmosphere feel uninviting.
Despite the food being flavorful and enjoyable, it was hard to fully appreciate it when the service was so poor. Dining out is not just about the food; it’s about the experience, and a welcoming environment is essential to enjoying your meal. Unfortunately, the attitude of the staff at B Laban made my visit a frustrating one.

We patiently waited for our order, but when token number 200 was served before us, I became concerned. When I tried to inquire about our order with the salesman, I was met with a dismissive attitude. He did not address my concerns or respond to my questions. Instead, he continued conversing with customers of other nationalities and ignored me entirely. I believe this behavior stemmed from discrimination based on my Indian ethnicity. After waiting for 45 minutes without receiving our order, I finally approached the manager. Only then was our order delivered, but the damage had already been done. The blatant disregard and discrimination we experienced left us feeling humiliated and upset. I am appalled that such behavior is tolerated within your establishment. I urge you to take immediate action to address this unacceptable treatment by implementing proper training for your staff on how to provide fair and respectful service to all customers, regardless of their ethnicity. Just one issue , staff there are extremely rude and disrespectful.
Please teach your staff to be more attentive and not be watching football on the work iPad screens. Ask them to kindly speak to non Arabic guest in English and not gossip in Arabic about their customers .
Had a bad experience with some of them last night 19th of June around 00:30am They saw me asked me where I’m from and started talking about my company and me as they saw my company id all in Arabic . I kept hearing my company name being brought up . The order was wrong so I asked them to kindly change it . Only spoke in Arabic . In a rude tone . And ripped my box with the sticker Apart and showed me implemented its the right Order . I didn’t want to argue and I told him speak in English and not Arabic . He mimicked exactly what I said and started saying something in Arabic . I just walked away as I didn’t want to escalate the situation .
