HOMEBOX is a subsidiary of Landmark Group The group was owned by an Indian billionaire Mr. Mukesh "Micky" Jagtiani who was a college dropout who had to clean hotel rooms and worked as a taxi driver in London to sustain himself. After his death, his wife Mrs. Renuka Jagtiani is the CEO and Chairwoman. I will quote her words regarding Corporate Governance and Compliance here for emphasis. "It is important to do what is right, not what is easy."
EDIT 1 Dec 2024-After asking for my refund, even when I do go into the store, most items come in a set so that they can sell as many items and clear out as much stock as possible. I just wanted to spend 3799 aed and nothing more. But dining tables come with 6 chairs(that I don't need), side tables are clubbed with centre tables(that I've already purchased from you guys-Ruby collection). Why am I still stuck in a loop of your making? Even after all this back and forth. They don't value that we can have our own choice as to what we want to purchase and our own interior design knowledge. Even after going through so much, I STILL have to wait 10 days more for all my products. These guys don't even see the problem with all this. It's all fun and games for them. People, please don't give them your money, this cycle will never end. Please leave these Landmark stores stranded so you never have to go through what I have been through. I have friends that have worked in the company and understand how these MNCs function. But on a very agitated personal note, ENOUGH is ENOUGH. Btw- I'm Attaching pictures of the Law of the Land so that you can continue your education before providing cheap, fast furniture at highly competitive prices and penetrate this market with your unfair trade policies.
EDIT 3 Nov 2024- Now after more than 20 calls, fighting everyday for my consumer rights to ask for the right resolution and 86 days I have FINALLY Received a credit note. What's sad is, I don't even want to purchase anything from HOMEBOX which was such a negative experience. I should have received my money back in my bank account or to spend at any other landmark store because all of it is going into their pocket. Consumers in UAE have the right to a good quality product, without hidden defects, proper guarantee/warranty and even after sales services. And if that's not the case+ ask for a refund/replacement/repairs. And the regional managers, employees or even the HQ -no company can tell me otherwise. I have read my rights. Your company is operating out of the UAE law. People, don't repeat my mistake.
EDIT 2 Oct 2024- Asking for a full refund for the sofa after more than 1 month of to and fro with the company on call. They fail to correspond, they don't offer prompt refunds, they keep stalling for weeks and months. Thoroughly exhausted and disheartened at this point. HOMEBOX is Highly incompetent in after sales service. Consider not buying big items from here.
EDIT 1 Sept 2024-I take my words back. Sofa is still a mess after months and countless calls to the team. Even after it has been to the workshop- clearly it's a poooor quality item. Will have to ultimately sell it off in the secondhand market or contribute to furniture waste on our planet. Buy from somewhere else.
May 2024-Recently bought the angelic bedroom set, therapedic mattress, a pullout to bed sofa and the ruby centre table from here. Had a great experience with Mr.Happy who was very friendly and extremely helpful. The quality of the products is also good and delivery was on time for most products (Some were delayed due to rains). Even all the delivery and assembly boys were quite well mannered and professional. Sofa is weak within 1 month, there's an alignment issue with pull out bed, the wheels have broken, the springs in seats creak, the foam has contracted. Read moreI have bought a blanket on dec 3rd 2022 from Alwahda branch but the blanket material is poor quality and the fabric material is spreading in the entire room. It may be manufacturing defect however such bad quality items are putting in offer it means you are not respecting your customers. I tried for returning but as per your policy need the orginal bill. Iam not understanding who will keep this bills in hand as orginal copy in this centuary. Requesting your team to change this kind of policy since you have duplicate invoice in your system and with that we can replace the product.
If we are using this kind of material the fabric material we will inhale while covering our head. Please see the attached image.
