I want to write about my visit to Grand Millenium Al Wahda. Let me start by saying that I expected more from a 5 star hotel than the experience I received.
The welcome from the concierge was very good and I was checked in pretty quickly by the reception. However that was the only thing that the reception did right. They failed on so many occasions to update the requirements of my booking and despite having made all the payments, they kept on saying that I have to make another payment. I could not understand if it was a system error or they simply did not know how to check the system. After the second time of them telling me that I have payments to make, it simply became a bore and a hassle.
Now lets talk about the room. The room was excellent, however the cleaning staff who cleaned on the first three days acted as if I was there for free. I requested for the cleaning to be delayed by 30 mins and when she came back we had still not finished having lunch and she made a face and huff that told me she was doing us a favour. I appreciate that housekeeping is a tiring job, however, if it’s not up your ally, then please let the management know and not the guest. The cleaning staff on the 17th was an awesome person who was all smiles and helpful. His name is MD Amir and was a very good person.
Now for the restaurant service and food. When I reached the restaurant for dinner, my special requirement had not been cascaded, despite the sales team adding it to the system. The restaurant checks with the reception who has no clue. Then the matter was sorted by talking to the Sales Executive who informed them that all had been done and I do not have to pay any extra. I informed the manager at Layali (Wednesday night buffet was moved to Layali) that I have breakfast the next day, and did not want to face the same issue or to wake the sales executive early in the morning, I was assured that he will inform and I would not have to face the issue again. However, the next morning the same scenario happened with the staff at Al Wahda claiming that I had to pay more. Again I had to speak to the sales executive who sorted the matter for. Food: May I suggest that you send your executive chefs to a 5 star hotel in Sri Lanka to see how a buffet spread should be laid out? The food at best was mediocre and bland except for a couple of dishes. The choices were limited, unless you call the same cake in three different colors and favors as three desserts. For breakfast, there was sambar & Paratha….??? I really feel that you can do better in this.
I also felt that most of the staff are working for the sake of doing a job and lack passion and commitment to customer service.
However, not all things were bad. The pool was great and so was Yin Yin in the restaurant and Harshani at reception.
I do want to make a very special mention of a gentleman who went way out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. If not for him, we would have had a pretty bad time. The sales executive Mr Farhan is a star and a real hospitality industry ambassador. He was willing to listen to me at all times. and was able to come good with all my requests. He was the one who made sure that the stay was a pleasant one. Thank you Farhan you are amazing.

this is my own person and review and I paid for everything and this is completely honest from my side regarding the treatment I had from the celebration team and the engagement I did and for that I booked a room which was numbered 30 11 which was in the 30th floor and the view was absolutely spectacular The room was very spacious and it was so clean. I highly recommend checking the area there because it is walkable, and it is one of the most convenient places and walkable in the city Abu Dhabi. Chloe the employee regarding the celebration is absolutely a sweetheart and she helped me with everything. I did my engagement for 64 people for women only in the saadiyat ball room and it was absolutely incredible. I really enjoyed every single moment planning and attending my own engagement and they also gave me a preparation room that was in the first floor, which was very convenient and it was very close to the engagement which was in the ground floor.
The hotel offers, valet parking, obviously regarding the rooms and the engagements for my guests also
The food was absolutely spectacular. I chose it and I already went three times for celebrations in this amazing and incredible hotel. I would really like to thank every single one that made my memory so special and I really appreciate all of them.
everyone in the team was so nice and so respectful they put partitions all around the buffet because because I had 64 people inside the ballroom we had to put the buffet outside and they guaranteed us fully private, and I put the decorations and everything else outside, which was the partitions really helped and kept our privacy the entire party
We were given the ballroom since the morning so my team can put the preparations for my engagement pretty early and I had a party from 830 till almost 1 AM and everyone was so helpful. The staff was absolutely so respectful and I felt safe 100% all of the time.
The prices were absolutely incredible and I had 40% off on the rooms to my guests and to myself in my room because I had three adult adults and three beds and they gave me such good prices and 40% off for my guests which was absolutely so convenient and so perfect for me and my guests
If I could recommend a hotel more, I would definitely tell everyone to go and book in this hotel and for this celebrations stay in and I heard the most incredible reviews about it and I'm so happy that they were a part of my memory

From the moment we arrived, the experience at Grand Millennium Al Wahda was nothing short of exceptional. The Grand Welcome as we stepped out of the taxi truly set the tone. The porter immediately stepped forward, gently saying, “Sir, you must be tired, let me handle the bags.” That thoughtful and caring gesture spoke volumes about the hotel’s commitment to genuine hospitality. True to his word, he brought our luggage up to the room just minutes later.
At check-in, Raghav delivered impeccable service — warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. He clearly explained everything we needed to know and ensured our check-in process was seamless. As our formalities were being completed, I noticed our luggage arriving on a trolley, neatly covered with a Grand Millennium–branded cover — such a classy touch!
We had arrived early in the morning, and Raghav went out of his way to check room availability and offer us an early check-in. It was such a relief to rest after a long journey. Later, when our return flight was scheduled past midnight, the hotel kindly allowed us a late check-out at 8 PM — an incredibly generous gesture that made our stay even more comfortable.
Biju, the porter who assisted us at check-out, was just as proactive and courteous. He asked if we would like him to arrange a taxi and, after confirming our preference, he promptly made the arrangements. When I came down to the lobby about 15 minutes later, the taxi was ready and waiting with our luggage already loaded.
A heartfelt mention also goes to Tajaliyat from the concierge team. His assistance throughout our stay was truly exceptional. He guided us on local attractions, suggested transport options, and even informed us about the free bus service to our destination. When the bus was delayed, he personally came out to ensure we were waiting at the correct spot, made a few calls, and gave us an updated arrival time — above and beyond what anyone would expect!
Lastly, being connected to Al Wahda Mall was a huge plus — especially in the Abu Dhabi heat. Thanks to Raghav’s tip, we discovered we could access the mall directly from the 3rd floor, which made shopping and dining so convenient.
