I went to EL&N on a Friday afternoon with my little girl for a mother-daughter day out. She absolutely loved the decor and was super excited. We enjoyed taking some pictures together at a corner table.
We ordered parmesan-crusted chicken tenders (from the kids’ menu) and a Mediterranean chicken salad. It took a while for our order to arrive. My daughter received three chicken tenders and quite a lot of fries. My salad consisted of romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, pomegranate, feta, and about 75% of a typical medium-sized chicken breast, sliced and grilled.
My daughter couldn’t even finish one entire tender, and they weren’t particularly big. They didn’t look too great, but I didn’t expect them to be as bad as they actually were. Even I couldn’t eat more than a few bites. I have no idea where the parmesan was, but there was certainly no parmesan taste. In fact, the only flavor present was that of old chicken. The thick, slightly chewy layer of cornstarch in between made things worse (see the picture). The fries, however, were crispy and ended up being the best part of both our meals.
Now, about my salad: I was super hungry, but even extreme hunger couldn’t make me overlook the complete lack of flavor. Lackluster and mediocre are the only words I can use to describe it. The chicken was soft but clearly previously frozen (which would’ve been fine if the salad had cost 20 AED, but I was paying 80 AED). The cherry tomatoes were watery and tasteless. It’s inexcusable for a premium restaurant to serve such poor-quality produce. The feta didn’t taste like feta at all—it was crumbly and mildly chewy. I really don’t understand what happened there (was it cottage cheese? Who knows).
My daughter was still hungry, so I let her indulge in some chocolate ganache. She loved it, of course. I thought it was okay but way overpriced at 47 AED. It was also clearly previously frozen.
The servers were pleasant and noticed my displeasure over the chicken tenders. They offered a compromise, and I accepted a cookie, which was decent.
My only regret was not having lunch elsewhere and coming here just for dessert...

Read moreI recently visited this breakfast/brunch spot with high hopes, but unfortunately, it left me feeling underwhelmed. The overall experience was just average, with nothing to write home about.
The food, while not terrible, was definitely basic and lacked any distinct flavors or creativity. The French toast was way too soft and soggy for my liking, and the syrup provided didn't do much to enhance the dish. Even the eggs benedict, a classic brunch favorite, was disappointingly basic, lacking any special twist or memorable elements.
One of the most disappointing aspects was the pricing. I found the menu to be overly expensive for what was essentially an ordinary breakfast experience. With the quality of food offered, I was expecting much more reasonable prices.
On a positive note, the staff was friendly and attentive, which was the only saving grace of my visit. However, good service alone is not enough to justify the overall lackluster experience.
In conclusion, while the staff's friendliness was commendable, I can't overlook the underwhelming food and the unreasonably high prices. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have no other options nearby or are solely looking for friendly service. There are definitely better brunch spots in the area that offer more delicious and satisfying meals at a fairer...
