Thank goodness it was another Friday.
As another year is drawing to a close, and with half of my colleagues on a Christmas holiday, I found it convenient to clock out after a Half-day work.
Lately, I stumbled across this biryani hub, located near my work-place. Their steamy biryani enjoys a wide patronage across nationalities, where people flock in droves after the Friday prayer.
Not every Hyderabadi biriyani that you come across, need to be credible. But the serious ones, do stand out from the rest.
The brevity of the menu does speak volumes about the Owner’s seriousness to the Hyderabadi food business. To put it in another way, a lengthy menu isn’t necessary for a Hyderabadi Restaurant.
As usual, the Biryani is the major focal point among the majority of the customers, with the Chicken-65 biriyani drawing a reasonable crowd. Nevertheless, the restaurant serves Haleem on Friday.
Though the Biriyani rice did justice to the taste and quality, the masala adjoining the chicken pieces could have been managed better. Even the “mirchi ka salan” did well.
The special mention of “Double masala” resonated with the lean waiter hailing from Falaknama, who accidentally served the mutton biriyani, first.
Despite the crowd, my repeated requests for onions and “mirchi ka salan” weren’t denied either.
A last round of mirchi ka salan, to round off the remaining rice, was an absolute necessity.
To wrap it up, a can of coke, lent me a happier ending.
Now if you are another Hyderabadi, living in UAE and deeply missing your hometown’s celebrated dish, then do give this a try. This might not replicate the ones in the Old City. But, this should be your next best option away...
Read moreCan you eat mutton Biryani with hair? One hair in one service could be coincidental or human error but more than one despite changing the food is evident that its carelessness, unprofessional practices, and unhygienic kitchens!
Ritaj has been one of our best choices for Biryani on Fridays or thrice a week but today’s experience was worst of all bad experiences we had observed at it’s Tourist Club Area branch. We ordered a mutton biryani family pack, just after we served Biryani to each other I found hair on mutton piece that was in my plate. We called the staff, showed it to them and they changed the remaining Biryani. They brought us a fresh portion of the Biryani but again we found another hair on another mutton piece.
Surprisingly despite our two complaints restaurant & kitchen staff did not bother to stop for a moment to think about what went wrong but simply said “sorry, we will change again”.
Literally what kind of reputed restaurant you are? Serving mutton Biryani in which mutton is not cleaned properly. The hight of shamelessness is that even after finding out that there is serious hygiene problem in this batch of Biryani, restaurant decided to continue serving same to other customers.
Highly NOT recommended for Biryani, you may or may not like the taste but kitchen of the restaurant is completely UNHYGIENIC, seating place is not so good, nor the staff is capable of handing problems...
