I was annoyed by the attitude during my visit, as the communication felt dismissive at times and led to unnecessary confusion. Here’s what happened:
One of the items we ordered was a vegetable omelette with cheese. However, another waiter approached our table and said: Waiter: "We’ll give you an Aakawi omelette." Me: 'No, we don’t like Aakawi cheese.' Waiter: "What cheese do you like?" Me: 'Mozzarella or cheddar.' Waiter: "Our cheese is mixed with Aakawi." Me: 'Okay, then just a vegetable omelette.' Waiter: "We’ll give you a plain omelette." Me: 'Why can’t you add some vegetables?' Waiter: "I’ll ask the chef." (After a moment) Waiter: "Okay, we’ll add some parsley."
Later, the waiter brought red tea with mint, and the following conversation occurred: Me: "Why is the tea murky?" Waiter: "Because we are using tea leaves." (I took a sip.) Me: "This tastes like cardamom tea. I ordered red tea with mint." Waiter: "I can add more mint leaves." Me: 'Thank you, but I prefer red tea with mint only.' Waiter: "I can add more mint leaves."
I called another waiter to clarify: Me: "I ordered red tea with mint, but this is cardamom tea. I want red tea with mint leaves." Waiter: "Actually, it’s mixed with herbs." Me: "This should be mentioned in the menu, as it changes the flavor significantly."
The overall experience left me disappointed due to the lack of clear communication and menu transparency. It would greatly help if substitutions and ingredients were clarified beforehand to avoid such confusion...
Read moreToday I visited the Somewhere restaurant in Yas Mall and I have only the most positive impressions. The atmosphere of the place is very cozy and stylish, which creates the perfect conditions for a pleasant evening.
I would like to pay special attention to the waiter Taryk. He was not only friendly, but also very attentive, which made our dinner especially comfortable. Taryk was happy to tell us about the menu and help us choose the best dishes and drinks. They also brought us delicious soup and dates for free.
The Moroccan tea that I ordered was a real discovery! Its aroma and taste were simply magnificent, and I could not resist ordering it again. And the coffee latte was prepared to perfection - with a rich taste and a light creamy texture, which made it the perfect complement to dessert.
The service at the Somewhere restaurant is truly top notch. All the staff are friendly and ready to help, which creates an atmosphere of comfort and care for the guests. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy great food and...
Read moreI visited the Somewhere Yas mall branch May 31 for a launch with my sisters, and we ordered a generous amount of food—more than enough to satisfy us. The service was commendable, and the waiters were attentive and helpful.
However, when it came time to pay, we scanned the code and split the bill between the two of us. Upon reviewing the charges, I noticed an extra drink was added to our bill that we clearly did not order. I promptly called the waiter over, and after checking the table, he acknowledged that the drink wasn’t ours. His reaction seemed anxious and confused, and he went back and forth to verify with his colleagues.
What I found disappointing was that even the duty manager did not apologize for this oversight, which I consider disrespectful. I encourage everyone to thoroughly check their bills before completing payment. With a mandatory service fee already included, adding unauthorized charges is unethical. If we wish to tip, we will do so!
Attached are the receipts before and after the...
